To create one, goonline to account.ncees.org and follow theinstructions. The information providedduring this process will be used to create yourappointment confirmation letter. COMPUTER-BASED EXAMSExam FeesExam fees are payable directly to NCEESduring the registration process. NCEES acceptspayments online via MasterCard, VISA, andAmerican Express. Fees for each attempt areas follows:Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)Fundamentals of Surveying (FS)Principles and Practice ofSurveying (PS)Principles and Practice ofEngineering (PE) Chemical 225 225 300 375Some licensing boards require examinees to filea separate application and pay an applicationfee as part of their approval process in order tobe qualified for seating for an NCEES exam.Examinees approved to take an exam through aforeign entity will be assessed a nonrefundable 25 international scheduling fee at the time ofregistration.Scheduling Your Exam AppointmentOnce your completed registration is approved,you will receive an email notification that youhave been authorized to take the exam and areeligible to schedule your exam appointment.To schedule your exam, log in to MyNCEES,select the SCHEDULE button, and follow theonscreen instructions. You must schedule anappointment time at least one full business day(24 hours) before taking the exam.Year-Round Testing OpportunitiesNCEES computer-based exams are offered intesting windows throughout the year duringthe following months: January–March April–June July–September October–DecemberNCEES policy states examinees may attempta particular NCEES exam one time per testingwindow and no more than three times in a12-month approval period, which begins withthe examinee’s first attempt. Some licensingboards have a more restrictive policy. Visitncees.org/boards to review the policy ofthe licensing board you selected during theregistration process.Register for and schedule your exam as far inadvance as possible for the best schedulingavailability. Failing to schedule your exam rightaway may result in reduced availability. Youalso run the risk of being unable to scheduleyour exam prior to the expiration of your12-month approval window and of forfeitingyour registration fee.Appointment Confirmation LetterYou will receive an appointment confirmationletter from Pearson VUE via email once youhave successfully registered for and scheduledyour exam. The letter will confirm your identity,the location of your Pearson VUE test center,the time of your appointment, and the examyou are scheduled to take. Verify that the firstand last names printed on the appointmentconfirmation letter match your first and lastnames as they appear on your governmentissued ID. Contact NCEES before exam day ifthe names do not match. Bring your letter tothe test center to avoid delays during the checkin process.You can confirm the scheduled appointmentand reprint the appointment confirmationletter by clicking the exam’s “ModifyAppointments” button in your MyNCEESaccount.4

COMPUTER-BASED EXAMSRescheduling/Cancellations/RefundsYou may cancel or reschedule yourappointment through your MyNCEES account.You may be entitled to a refund, dependingon the date that you cancel or reschedule theexam. Applicable refunds will be processedautomatically and applied to the same creditcard used when registering for the exam within7–10 business days.All reschedule fees are payable directly toPearson VUE and are subject to applicable PearsonVUE fees. You must reschedule examappointments at least 24 hours in advanceof your scheduled appointment. Examineeswho reschedule 24 to 48 hours in advance of theirscheduled appointment will pay a higher fee thanthose who reschedule more than 48 hours inadvance of their scheduled appointment.You may cancel your exam as long as you doso more than 48 hours in advance of yourscheduled appointment. Cancellations thatare received more than 48 hours in advance ofa scheduled appointment will be eligible fora refund of the NCEES registration fee lessa 50 administrative fee. Cancellations arenot allowed within 48 hours of a scheduledappointment.If a test center is open during inclementweather, neither NCEES nor Pearson VUE willmake exceptions to refund and fee policies forexaminees who cancel, reschedule, or fail toattend their scheduled appointment because ofweather conditions.If, on the day you are scheduled to test, youare unable to attend the exam for any of thefollowing reasons, you may be allowed toreschedule without paying a rescheduling fee ormay be allowed to cancel with a full refund: Illness, either yourself or immediate familymember Death in the immediate family Disabling traffic accident Court appearance or jury duty Military dutyTo avoid any monetary penalty in suchsituations, you will be required to providereasonable documentation to NCEES within14 days of your originally scheduledappointment confirming why you were unableto test as scheduled.If you have an issue regarding a payment orrefund, contact NCEES directly at 864-6546824. Fees associated with chargebacks,returned checks, or any form of disputedpayment are the responsibility of the issuer.Changing Your Exam Discipline orLicensing BoardIf you decide to change your exam disciplineor select a different licensing board afterregistering, you will need to cancel yourexisting exam and re-register for the new exam.You will be eligible for a refund of the NCEESregistration fee less a 50 administrative fee.Exam AccommodationsNCEES provides reasonable and appropriateaccommodations for individuals withdocumented disabilities within the meaningof the Americans with Disabilities Act, asamended (ADA). If you believe that you havea disability that prevents you from taking anexam under standard conditions, you mayrequest accommodations.Under ADA, a disability is a physical or mentalimpairment that substantially limits anindividual’s ability to perform one or moremajor life activities, as compared with mostpeople in the general population.5

COMPUTER-BASED EXAMSIndicate your need for accommodations duringthe registration process. You will receive emailconfirmation from NCEES to acknowledgethe request for accommodations. The NCEESExaminees with Disabilities Guide, whichprovides instructions on how to submitsupporting documentation, can be found atncees.org/exams/special-accommodations.The review/approval process can take up to30 days and will not begin until NCEES hasreceived all required documentation. You willnot be authorized to schedule an appointmentfor testing until this process has beencompleted.Email questions related to the accommodationsprocess to NCEES at accommodations@ncees.org.Test Center Rules and RegulationsYou will be required to review and agree tocomply with the NCEES CBT Exam Rules andAgreement during the check-in process at thetest center. In addition, the CBT NondisclosureAgreement will appear onscreen prior tobeginning your exam. In order to take theexam, you must agree to comply with theagreement within 2 minutes. If you do notaccept the terms within 2 minutes or if youclick “No,” the exam will end and you willforfeit your appointment and exam fees.THE DAY OF YOUR COMPUTER-BASEDEXAMArrive at the Pearson VUE test center 30minutes before your scheduled appointment.What to BringYou must present one of the following IDsupon arrival at the test center: ID issued by a government entity in thecountry in which you are testing International travel passport in romancharacters from your country of citizenship U.S. military IDIDs must beDAY OF THE EXAMcurrent andp Appointment confirmation letterinclude anexpiration date,p NCEES-approved calculatoryour name andp Acceptable form of identificationdate of birth,p Approved comfort itemsa recognizablephoto, and yoursignature. Valid U.S. military IDs that do notinclude a signature will be accepted. StudentIDs will not be accepted.The first and last name on your appointmentconfirmation letter and your ID must match.To help speed up the process while checkingin, bring a printed copy of your appointmentconfirmation letter.You are allowed to bring one NCEES-approvedcalculator into the testing room. You may storespare calculators and covers with your personalbelongings. COMPUTER-BASED EXAMSItems not permitted in the testing roominclude but are not limited to cell phones,handheld computers/personal digital assistants(PDAs) or other electronic devices, fitnesstrackers, pagers, watches, wallets, purses, hatsand other head coverings (unless they qualifyas religious apparel), bags, coats, books, notes,pens, pencils, erasers, food, and beverages.You must store all belongings not permitted inthe testing room in designated areas outsidethe testing room. Most test centers have smalllockers. You must turn off all electronic devicesbefore storing them in a locker. The test centeris not responsible for lost, stolen, or misplacedpersonal items.Approved Comfort ItemsThe test center will provide items included onthe Pearson VUE Comfort Aid List, such asearplugs, noise-canceling headphones, andtissues.
