He sent warning to ancientIsrael. He even allowed its enemiesto breach its borders in a devastatingstrike that would traumatize thenation. It was a wake-up call, thecall to return to God. But the nationresponded with defiance. God thengave Nine Harbingers of Judgment,nine prophetic signs, alarms, andforeshadows of what was to come.Now America is the nation inrapid departure from God’s will.And God has likewise allowed anenemy to breach its borders in adevastating strike — the terroristattacks of September 11, 2001. It was,likewise, a wake-up call. But America,like Israel, has not responded withrepentance but with defiance. Andnow the Nine Harbingers of Judgmenthave reappeared and have done soon American soil. Four harbingershave manifested at Ground Zero,two harbingers in Washington, D.C.,and several involving the highest ofAmerican leaders — each harbingercontaining a prophetic messageand warning. There isn’t spacehere to even begin to cover all themysteries — but I’ll touch on one ofthe Nine Harbingers and three of themysteries.

Page Number 4.The Word that PronouncedJudgment on AmericaAs the dust settled on ancient Israelafter the first attack and calamity,the nation’s leaders uttered a specificseries of words. The words formed avow of defiance (see Isaiah 9:10). Itwould seal their fate. It would declarethat they would not repent beforeGod, but would defy Him instead. Itwas the Ninth Harbinger. It would sealtheir fate as a nation and lead to theirdestruction.On the very morning afterSeptember 11th, the Ninth Harbingernow manifested in America. Ithappened in Washington, D.C. Onthat day, from Capitol Hill, out of themouth of the Senate Majority Leader,proceeded the exact same wordsuttered by the leaders of ancient Israel2,500 yearsbefore, in thelast days ofthat nation’sjudgment(Isaiah 9:10).Having noidea what hewas doing,the MajorityLeader was declaring America asunder the judgment of God. It wasthe reenactment of an ancientmystery — and bore the most grave ofconsequences.The Biblical Secretthat Caused America’sEconomic CollapseAccording to the ancient mysteryrevealed in the Book of Isaiah, if afterthat first calamity and warning, thenation doesn’t return to God butresponds in defiance, it will end uptriggering a second calamity. It wasbecause of this ancient key, that,seven years after 9/11, the AmericanPage 4economy collapsed. In the days after9/11, the Federal Reserve slashed thebase interest rate in an attempt to defythe consequences of the attacks. Thataction put us on the path leading tothe collapse of the American economyseven years later.In 2008, the government made asecond fatal mistake, another ill-fatedfinancial decision, that would triggerthe collapse of the American economy.Amazingly, it took place on the seventhanniversary of the uttering of theancientvow onCapitol Hill.WallStreetand theMysteryof the ShemitahAs the prophets gazed out at the ruinsof ancient Israel, they realized thatthere was a mystery to the timingof God’s judgment. That mysterycentered on the biblical Shemitah.Every seventh year, the Shemitah, orSabbath Year, would cause the landto rest, when sowing and reaping,buying and selling, would come to astandstill. The Shemitah was unique inthat it specifically affected the nation’seconomic and financial realms —wiping out all accounts of credit anddebt. For the nation that departs fromGod, the Shemitah becomes a sign ofjudgment.The year of Shemitah reaches itsculmination on the last day of theHebrew year. In September of 2008came the greatest stock market pointcrash in Americanhistory. When did ithappen? On the biblicalday of the Shemitah — thevery day when creditand debt, the accountsof the financial realm, are wiped away!Seven years earlier was the secondlargest crash in American history — itwas the one caused by 9/11. Whendid that crash take place? On the dayof the Shemitah! Thus the two greatestfinancial collapses in American historyboth happened on the exact sameHebrew day — the day of the Shemitah —the sign of a nation departed from God.And the night after each of America’sstock market crashes came the Feast ofTrumpets, the sounding of the shofar— the other biblical sign of judgment.America’s Mystery GroundWhen judgment came to Israel,the calamity returned the people’sattention to the place where thenation had been consecrated to God— the Temple Mount. God was callingthe nation back to Himself. Whatabout 9/11? Could there be, in theAmerican calamity, as well, a mysteryof return? Could there be a propheticmessage hidden in the place whereit happened? There is a place, whereAmerica was consecrated to God inprayer. It is also a place linked to aprophetic warning given on that sameday — uttered by the nation’s firstPresident — now coming to pass. Whatis that place? Ground Zero.In 1789, newly inauguratedPresident, George Washington, gavea prophetic warning at Federal Hallin New York City. He declared thatAmerica’s prosperity and protectionwere dependent upon its adherenceto God. Later, the political leadersof this young nation gathered at St.Paul’s Chapel to commit the nation’sfuture to God’spurposes. ThatChapel is locatedat Ground Zeroand survived 9/11virtually unscathed.
