ENERGY TREATMENTS FORSHOULDER PROBLEMSWarning Signs of a Shoulder InjuryIf you are experiencing pain in your shoulder, ask yourself thesequestions:- Is your shoulder stiff? Can you rotate your arm in all the normalpositions?- Does it feel like your shoulder could pop out or slide out of thesocket?- Do you lack the strength in your shoulder to carry out your dailyactivities?- Orthopedic surgeons group shoulder problems into the followingcategories.InstabilitySometimes, one of the shoulder joints movesor is forced out of its normal position. Thiscondition is called instability, and can result ina dislocation of one of the joints in theshoulder. Individuals suffering from aninstability problem will experience pain whenraising their arm. They also may feel as if theirshoulder is slipping out of place.Restricted Motion o the Shoulder or Arm (Impingement)Impingement is caused by excessive rubbing of the shoulder musclesagainst the top part of the shoulder blade, called the acromion (Scapular –Shoulder Blade).Impingement problems can occur during activities that require excessiveoverhead arm motion.
