The EmblemThe Emblem of the Rajiv Gandhi University of HealthSciences is a symbolic expression of the confluence ofboth Eastern and Western Health Sciences. A centralwand with entwined snakes symbolises Greek andRoman Gods of Health called Hermis and Mercury isadapted as symbol of modern medical science. The potabove depicts Amrutha Kalasham of Dhanvanthri thefather of all Health Sciences. The wings above it depictsHuman Soul called Hamsa (Swan) in Indian philosophy.The rising Sun at the top symbolises knowledge andenlightenment. The two twigs of leaves in westernphilosophy symbolises Olive branches, which is anexpression of Peace, Love and Harmony. In HinduPhilosophy it depicts the Vanaspathi (also called asOushadi) held in the hands of Dhanvanthri, which are thesource of all Medicines. The lamp at the bottom depictshuman energy (kundalini).
