A hotfix is available from Microsoft that allows NT Backup on Windows Server2003 to support spanning across RDX cartridges. See Microsoft KB article932059.2. For spanning across RDX cartridges use the tar –M –L size option (where size isthe cartridge capacity in kilobytes) when creating multiple-volume backups. Formore information, refer to the main page for tar.3. Backup Exec version 12.5 is not compatible with Windows Server 2008 R24. The Microsoft native backup utility included with Server 2008 R2 has thefollowing limitations:a. Scheduled image backup is not supported.b. Individual file restore is not supported.c. Partial system backup is not supported.d. Limited in removable mode.5. For Windows Server 2012 Hotfix KB xxx is required6. Works only with USB 3.0 Drives05/06/20141

The issue has not been tested on Linux systems.8. Use of Promise SATA add-in card with button eject requires RDX host toolsrelease 1.33 or later and registry key workaround valueHKEY CURRENT nfiguration\ScsiMediaDetectionto be set. RDX Compatibility Guide 1.2.4.Eject Button SupportWindowsWindows does not have native support for removable disk drives. Specifically, theoperating system does not allow the eject button to operate with cartridges formattedwith the NTFS file system. It does allow the user to eject the cartridge using WindowsExplorer (right-click on drive letter, select “Eject”).Tandberg Data supplies a utility that allows the eject button to operate properly onWindows. This utility runs as a Windo ws service. See the RDX Utility Users Guide forinstallation instructions.Linux/Mac OS XLinux and Mac OS X do not typically support the eject button operation. Use therecommended system method to eject the removable media.05/06/20146
