Follow the steps below to create a string maze of your own. When ready, testyour family and friends by sending them on an outdoor maze adventure!Tangled Trails1 GATHER YOUR FRIENDSGather friends or family membersand a few different colored ballsof yarn or string. It’s theperfect challenge for Clara, as her problem solvingabilities are put to the test in order to solve the puzzle.Strung in and around the obstacles of Drosselmeyer’sgrand estate, Clara follows the golden thread, unsureof where it will lead.Head outside and designate astarting point where you can wrapthe beginning of each ball of yarnaround as an anchor.3 UNSPOOL THE YARNUnspool the balls of yarn as youwrap them around, over, under orthrough different obstacles, suchas trees, bushes, rocks or play sets.Overlap with others to make themaze more challenging.Some of the best adventures begin when you step beyondyour familiar surroundings and discover the world rightoutside your own door. Not only does spending time innature allow you to run, jump and explore, but spaces innature provide opportunities to use your imaginationin the most creative ways. Although Clara enters intoan unknown world, nature and playing outside doesnot have to take place in a mysterious realm. Whilewooded areas make imaginative playscapes, thebenefits of spending time outdoors can be enjoyedat a small park, schoolyard or even your ownbackyard. These locations are perfect forchallenging your friends and family in anadventurous puzzle of your own making.At the end of each string, tie a unique surprise that canbe a gift to your family and friends. The flowers, trees and plants you seemay bring a smile to your face, but they also haveincredible benefits to your well-being. In fact,studies have shown the more time you spend outin nature the healthier and happier you becomeand the better you do in school. So, whatare you waiting for? Head out to yourfavorite garden, park or nature spotand step into a Land of Flowersthat’s all your own!Begin with one dot in the middle,then drag your finger in a straightline away from the center dot tomake long petals.Create loops to make petals and layerwith as many colors as you’d like.Then, add a stripe with a dot at theend from the middle.PEONYStart by making short strokes in a circulardirection, then layer other colors on top ofyour circle in the same fashion.
