Equally importantwere the estate contributions, and more than 1,000,000was given to the Foundationlast year. Most estatedonations go into RevelationBridge, an endowment fundset aside for futuregenerations. Please putUrantia Foundation into yourwill. You’ll be able to smilefrom the mansion worldsknowing that you helpedsecure the work of UrantiaFoundation for futuregenerations.5. Property Taxes for 533You might recall that theproperty taxes on our buildingincreased from 20,000 to 97,000. The increase wascrippling and risked the futureof the home of the revelation.Fortunately, the taxassessment had beenmiscalculated. At this point, full resolution of the buildingtax issue is still pending in theassessor’s office. We expectthe taxes to be approximately 35,000 per year. Most of the January boardmeeting was spent discussingthe Foundation’s five-yeargoals that were generatedduring the October 2019planning meeting. Weestablished seven goals and arenow working on how tospecifically accomplish them. After that, we will determine thetimelines, job responsibilities, and costs to accomplish thegoals.Following are the prioritized fiveyear goals: Books: Increase globalbook sales and distributionby 7% every year. Fundraising: Increase theendowment funds includingRevelation Bridge to 12,000,000. He worked on thisproject for countless hoursover the past 10 years, andour gratitude for his service isimmeasurable. We aresaddened to report thatCarmelo graduated recentlyand asked the revision teammembers to share somememories. By Olga López, team member,Barcelona, SpainCarmelo Martínez graduated tothe mansion worlds on January15, 2020, at the age of 72.Even though his passing wasdue to complications derivedfrom a prostatic cancer, thisevent was unexpected to all—I would dare to say even tohimself. Until the very end,he was working on theSpanish revision process, along-term project started in2011 and presently in its laststages.Born near Bilbao (BasqueCountry, Spain), an industrialengineer with a degree ineconomics, married with twosons, one daughter, andseven grandchildren,Carmelo was a true servantof the circles, a tirelessworker and a brilliant mindthat was always willing togive his insightful views onthe most complex topicsappearing in The UrantiaBook. He was the president of theUrantia Association of Spainfrom 2012 to 2018, whichthrived during his mandate. He also left many secondaryworks and, most importantly, the project of his life: aSpanish revision of El libro deUrantia.I met Carmelo in 2005, andsince then I have consideredhim a very dear friend. Weenjoyed many preciousmoments that I will treasureforever. Now that he is on thenext stage of the long journeyto Paradise, his livingexample will be aninspiration for all of us tokeep working for the sake ofthe fifth epochal revelation.¡Hasta pronto, Carmelo! Untilwe meet again, we will finishwhat you started and will goeven further in the spreadingof the Urantia revelation. Carmelo and I met for thefirst time at UrantiaFoundation when theSpanish revision team had itsfirst meeting in 2011. Fromthe very first moment Iexchanged words with him, Icould feel his commitment tothe task we had in front ofus. He was the leader of ourtranslation team, and I cantestify to the quality of hiswork. I fondly remember ourdiscussions about the bestway to translate a word, anidea, a sentence. On manyoccasions we disagreed, onmany more we agreed. I feelhonored to have worked withhim on this project. I am surethe other members of ourteam feel the same way. Inhim I found a friend and abrother, and I am lookingforward to meeting him againin the next life stage whenmy time comes. Farewell myfriend! By Anibal Pacheco, teammember, Santiago, ChileI remember Carmelo for bothhis calm disposition and hisrigor as he encouraged us tomove forward during therevision process of El libro deUrantia. He expressed joy asour revisions to thetranslation improved thetext’s quality and accuracy. Ican indeed affirm he was inlove with the revision workbecause I witnessed theimmensity of hiscontributions during ouryears of daily collaboration.Like the rest of the revisionteam, Carmelo had faith in

Carmelo will remain inmy memory as the chiefreviser, my colleague at work,my friend, and my brother. By Víctor García-Bory,Associate Trustee, New York,United StatesToday I invite you to celebrateCarmelo’s life and example asfather, husband, and friend, aswe acknowledge hisgraduation to a new and betterstage in his universalascension career. As I reflect on Carmelo's life ofselfless service and thesignificance of hiscontributions to thebetterment of the Urantiacommunity, including theSpanish revision of TheUrantia Book and the Urantiacommunity at large, I amreminded of how discreet hewas about it. He never soughtto attract attention towardshimself. Rather his practicewas that of the man in Jesus’parable, who "when he lights alamp, . . . puts his lamp on astand where all can behold thelight." 151:3.1 (1691.4) Thatwas, and is, Carmelo: alwaysdiscreet, ready, and capable ofbearing the fruits of the spiritin abundance despite theenormous challenges that lifethrew at him.Carmelo was an inspiringexample in many respects, especially in terms ofovercoming adversity, teamwork spirit, dedication, loyalty, talent, and sincerity. For now, I cannot think of abetter way to convey who thisfriend is to many of us than toshare with you an excerptfrom a conversation we hadjust last September, whichCarmelo agreed would berecorded to share with othersin the future.“I believe in The Urantia Bookbecause thanks to it, Idiscovered the Father withinme. I have discovered theSpirit of the Father.“I have begun to really knowHim, to know how He is, howHe acts. That has signified achange in my personal life; itis something that I profoundlyappreciate because, it seemsto me, knowing the Father isfundamental.“I encourage all readers to try,to reflect internally, anddiscover the Father, find thelove that the Father has forus.I have felt that love of theFather for me and for othersmany times. I encourageeverybody to discover Himbecause when they do, if theyhave not already done it . . .the revelation will besomething natural, somethinglogical, something that isbelieved because, yes, because He is, because it iswhat He says.“In any event, it is abouthaving faith in the Father.”For now, my prayers, love, andsupport go to his wife Charoand their children Amalia andAdrian, as I rejoice, as do allthe members of his Urantiafamily, knowing that this trueserver of the concentric circlesis with his beloved HeavenlyFather.O N L I N E E D U C AT I O N —A G L O B A L M I S S I O Nubiquitous in most parts of theUnited States, reliable internetaccess is not yet a worldwidecommodity. This Foundationprogram is now poised to growfrom four languages into asmany as ten over the next nineyears. It is a testament to theprescient vision of TrusteeGeorges Michelson-Dupontthat we were able to identifyand ride the ascendancy of the“world wide web.” WhileUBIS provides the cozy andinteractive atmosphere of astudy group in a six- or tenweek format. Theasynchronous platform allowsreaders from any time zone toparticipate at their leisure.Unlike other schools, UBISutilizes peer-to-peerfacilitation. Courses aredeveloped and presented byreaders like you or me. Ourteacher-facilitators (TFs) haveall read the book from cover tocover several times, havetaken at least three coursesand shown themselves to beeffective communicators, andhave been trained infacilitation and questiondevelopment. This structurewas built on a foundation ofprinciples derived from thestudy of the fifth epochalrevelation and can best bedescribed as non-interpretivefacilitation of self-discovery ofthe truths revealed in TheUrantia Book. What does that mean exactly? It means that TFs are notinstructors in the traditionalsense. While provocativequestions are provided tostimulate students andgenerate responses, there areno right answers beyondfactual information. Eachstudent brings a uniqueperspective to everydiscussion, and eachindividual’s perception ofrevealed spiritual truth maybe unlike anyone else’s. Thisteaching philosophy giveseach individual a safeenvironment in which toexplore and contemplate themeanings and valuesdiscovered in the assignedreadings. Students experiencea sense of spiritual communityduring group sharingexercises, and lastingrelationships are often forged. The goal of every course, inany language, is to promotethe expansion of cosmicconsciousness and theenhancement of spiritualperception.English branchLast year, 20 TFs developedand presented 20 coursestaken by 243 students from19 countries.1. Byqualitative leap, I mean theculmination of quantitativework we (Eugene and I at first, and then the readers in thePhilippines) have done so far, including: the distribution ofThe Urantia Book throughoutmost of the Philippines, findingand visiting individual readersin the various places theyreside, encouraging theformation of study groups, developing programs forbeginning readers as well asintensive study for leaders andteachers, extendingmobilization to familyNew possibilities that haverecently sprung up as a resultof this work include a youthgroup consisting of 10 youngpeople which was organizedabout six months before theconference; a women’s group, also recently organized, calledBabae (the Tagalog word forwoman), with at least seven toten regular participants whostudy twice a week via theFacebook Messenger platform;the possibility of regionalconferences outside Manila;plans to connect Filipinoreaders abroad (in the MiddleEast, the United States, andAustralia) via a Zoomconference; and the initiationof the Filipino languagetranslation. So, after seven years ofquantitative progress leadingto this qualitative leap, wefinally decided that a nationalconference would be feasible.Urantia Foundation andUrantia AssociationInternational helped bydonating many books that wedisseminated in 2014, 2015,and 2017. In 2018, theFoundation sponsored anintensive study of The UrantiaBook by the Metro Manilastudy group. Thesepreparations culminated in theFilipino Urantia Book readersbeing ready for their firstconference. We thank theUrantia Book Fellowship forencouraging us andsponsoring this event. The Urantia Book Readers ofthe Philippines—an informalumbrella organization—heldtheir first National EducationalConference on November 22,23, and 24, 2019, at theGems Hotel and ConferenceCenter in Antipolo City. Ourobjectives were to educateindividuals on the basics ofThe Urantia Book, and to linkup and unite different regionalgroups and supporters in thecountry. The groundwork ofpreparing for the nationalconference took at least 10months. Almost everyone whoattended was involved in thedecision making, and eventhose who are not Filipinospeakers helped with theplanning.Day one of the conference,November 22, began withregistration, including givingout conference T-shirts andfolders with program activitiesfor the next three days. At 3:00p.m., opening prayers andworship songs were renderedby the Urantia PhilippinesYouth Cultural Group. This wasfollowed by welcomingINremarks, introducing each ofthe 31 participants with sometestimonials on how the bookinspired them and changedtheir lives for the better. At7:00 p.m., the cultural groupsang, and the first speaker,Andre Radatus, internationalrepresentative of theFellowship, spoke on thehistory of The Urantia Book, ending with a question andanswer session. The audiencelistened attentively to trulyunderstand how the bookcame about.Day two, November 23, wasfull from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00p.m. The topics and thespeakers were as follows:1) “The Plan of God,” onhow to live according toGod’s plan, with speakerAllan Bancairen. Heemphasized thefatherhood of God andbrotherhood of man andits application to servicethat includes our time, talent, finances, and theteaching “be you perfectas I am perfect.”2) “Life after PhysicalDeath: The MansionWorlds and our journey toParadise,” with speakerEugene Asidao. Heemphasized the universalsteps toward eternal lifeuntil we are embraced bythe Infinite Father inParadise.3) “Scientific Evidence inThe Urantia Book” withtwo speakers, EdwinArmonio and CalvinPenaco. They discussedthat The Urantia Book hasmuch science in it thathas been proven later byscientists.

He gavecredence to Jesus’ life asthe best model forhumanity. Before and after eachspeaker’s presentation theyouth cultural group sang aheartfelt spiritual song whichbrought joy and inspiration toour hearts.Day three, Sunday, November24, began after breakfast withan open forum, assessing thelast few days and writing ourplan to build the Urantiamovement in the Philippines. The women’s group puttogether the ideas gathered,For 10 years and onward, goals are to start educationalinstitutions, beginning with theelementary level andeventually leading up to aUrantia University of thePhilippines. The qualitative leap maylead to more members, butunless we develop qualitymembers through morequantitative work such aseducation in The Urantia Bookand ministry, we cannot havethe next qualitative leap. URANTIA FOUNDATION’S NEWS ONLINEA S TORY O F T HR EE A U D IOB OO K SClaude FlibotteGuy VachonRoselyne de BaetsBy Claude Flibotte, Québec,Canadasound quality of the existingrecording. This is a tale of how the Frenchtranslation of The UrantiaBook, A Study of the MasterUniverse, and Appendices to AStudy of the Master Universecame to be recorded in theFrench language. We were all volunteers on thisproject, and except forRoselyne, who was retired, wehad day jobs. So therecordings were made in theevenings and onweekends. The completeproduction took three years ofwork. It was in 2009 that Isubmitted this audio version ofLe Livre d’Urantia to GeorgesMicheson-Dupont at UrantiaFoundation, and then it waspublished on the website. The adventure of creatingthese audio recordings began,as I recall, in 2007. At thattime, I was aware that acertain Mr. Richard Lachanceof Québec City had hired aprofessional reader to recordthe fourth part of Le Livred’Urantia, “The Life andTeachings of Jesus.” I thoughtit was a pity that not all of thebook was thus available inaudio format, and I set myselfthe goal of producing the otherthree parts.I formed a team of volunteers.Marc Belleau, Roselyne deBaets, and Guy Vachonanswered the call to join yourhumble servant in taking onthis task. The role of the lateAlcide Paradis was to listen tothe documents and to pointout to me any errors inpronunciation. My initial rolewas to coordinate everyone, check the recordings, makecorrections, improve thesound, and produce a finaldocument in mp3 format. Thefourth part was not rerecorded, but I did rework theAfter that, I discovered andread two books by William S.Sadler, Jr., A Study of theMaster Universe andAppendices to A Study of theMaster Universe. The author ofthese books, also known asBill Sadler, was the son of Dr.William S. Sadler and was oneof the six known members ofthe Contact Commission. Hewas an original member of theForum and a great scholar andteacher of the Urantia Papers. He believed that the morecomplex and difficult materialwas meant to be studieddeeply, so for the benefit of all,he wrote these two books.A Study of the MasterUniverse, copyright 1968, waspublished by the SecondSociety Foundation, Chicago,Illinois, which also publishedAppendices to A Study of theMarc BelleauMaster Universe in 1975. TheAssociation Francophone desLecteurs du Livre d’Urantia(AFLLU)—meaning Frenchspeaking Association ofReaders of The Urantia Book—translated both volumes fromthe original English andpublished them via UrantiaFrance S.A. The first edition ofUne étude du maitre universwas published in 1997. Thefirst edition of Appendices àune étude du maitre universwas published in 2001 andprinted in two volumes—thefirst 150 pages and thesecond 372 pages.I studied these books bySadler over a period of tenyears, from 2009 to 2019,during which I also attended astudy group once a month. Icame to the conclusion thatthese two works are ofparamount importance to abetter understanding of thecomplex concepts expoundedby the revelators. In myopinion, to understand therevelations given to us in TheUrantia Book, it is imperativeto read the text of the bookitself. But if the reading provesdifficult, these books byWilliam S. Sadler, Jr. may helpexplain the more challengingconcepts in a more simplelanguage.I felt it was important to makethem available in audio formatas well. I requested permissionAlcide Paradisfrom Georges MichelsonDupont to proceed withanother audio recordingproject. If memory serves mecorrectly, I started this work in2010. My good friend MarcBelleau generously committedhimself, with his beautifulvoice and artistic talent, toproduce the recordings of Uneétude du maitre univers. It waspublished on the Foundation’swebsite in 2017. Please find ithere: edu-maitre-univers.For my part, I started workingon the recordings ofAppendices à une étude dumaitre univers. This adventurelasted several years andended in December 2019. Ithas been available on theFoundation’s site sinceJanuary 2020. Please find eunivers/appendices-uneetude-du-maitre-univers.It is my hope that these audiobooks constitute an additionalmedium for mastering thelearning of these revelations inorder to expand one's cosmicconsciousness and enhanceone's spiritual perception.Happy listening!
