Donald Singalewitch, ’50 U.S. News & World Report ranked us #106 among all national universities in 2019– the highest ranking that NJIT has ever earned in the magazine’s annual “BestColleges” publication. Forbes and The New York Times named us as the #1 university in the entire nationfor enabling students to achieve upward socioeconomic mobility. PayScale put us in the top 2% of all colleges and universities for return oninvestment. Princeton Review included the university among its “Best 384 Colleges” andidentified us as a top college in the Northeast region. The Carnegie Commission on Higher Education classified NJIT as an R1 institution, making it one of just 131 universities in the nation – and one of just three in NewJersey – that boast the “highest research activity.”I hope that all of you take great pride in these accolades, as well as the manyaccomplishments and successes upon which they are based.I also hope you know how grateful we are to our alumni and friends for helping usscale such lofty heights. The considerable time, talent, and treasure that you haveinvested in our students, faculty, programs, and facilities are among the forces drivingNJIT’s notable progress during the past few years. Last year alone, 5,247 donorscontributed nearly 15 million to the university, establishing 43 new scholarships andadding 7.6 million to the endowment. These are impressive totals, and they reflect your continued confidence not only inthe enduring value of an NJIT degree but in the promise and potential of our talentedstudents. On their behalf, in particular, you have our profound and lasting gratitude.Sincerely,Kenneth Alexo, Jr., Ph.D.Vice President for Development & Alumni RelationsPresident, Foundation at NJITThe Leadership Circle includes the Eberhardt Society – 25,000 or more, Weston Society – 10,000 to 24,999, Founders’ Club – 5,000 to 9,999,President’s Circle – 1,000 to 4,999.
