RSU 54/MSAD 54 Adult & Community Education2020 Spring Semester CalendarWELCOMEJeremy Lehan, DirectorLike many of you, I have tried to find healthy ways to copewith pandemic related stress, and one “go-to” for me hasbeen jogging.January 11, 2021Academic Classes BeginJanuary 18, 2021No Classes, MLK Jr. DayJanuary 12 - February 4, 2021HiSET 101 Session FourFebruary 1, 2021Enrichment Classes BeginFebruary 15 - February 19, 2021Winter BreakFebruary 23 - March 18, 2021HiSET 101 Session FiveMarch 23 - April 15, 2021HiSET 101 Session SixApril 19 - April 23, 2021Spring BreakApril 27 - May 20, 2021HiSET 101 Session SevenAt least three times per week I hit the streets, and I have found extra motivation by usingan app that has a guided run feature. My cyber coaches give me encouragement andadvice that help the miles pass by.In talking about dealing with frustrations and setbacks, one coach cited a Muhammad Aliquote: “There’s nothing wrong with getting knocked down, as long as you get right backup.”I suspect that over the past several months, we have all felt knocked down and, in somecases, have been literally knocked down by COVID-19. If we use Ali’s mindset, however,we don’t need to let the hardships overwhelm us.In Adult Education last fall, we successfully offered many online classes, including Beginners Hatha Yoga, Aerobics, A Writer’s Workshop, and more. All of those classes are back, and we will add many others, such as a Maine Humanities Council Book Discussion group,Becoming an eBayer, Quilting, and Medical Terminology.I hope that you strongly consider joining us for a class this spring. If you have not had anyexperience using Zoom or other video conferencing software, we are here to help troubleshoot. Please don’t let technology or inexperience be a barrier to participation.Thank you for helping us regain our footing; thank you for your continued support of Adultand Community Education.Skowhegan Area 474-7553Jan - May 20213
