SCC – Division of Continuing Education Online classes are taught via six different modes: Online, Remote Blended,Remote Live, Correspondence, Face to Face, and Hybrid. Below are the definitions and abbreviations for each of themodes. When registering for a class, take note of the Online abbreviations as that is the mode through which theclass will be taught.Fully Online(100% online on CANVAS) Requires a Computer, a tablet, or a mobiledevice Mostly asynchronous (not day or timedependent) Flexible Schedule Mostly video lectureRemote Blended(On Canvas Scheduled Zoom class meetings) Requires a Computer, a tablet, or a mobiledevice Students complete work regularly throughoutthe week and the class meets only in anonline classroom environment on some daysthroughout the term. Mostly video lectureFace to FaceClasses are in person and on-campus classeswith weekly scheduled meeting days and times.Students will complete the semester on campusunless the college is ordered to discontinueface to face classes.
