May 2019Page 2Jim and Darlene MorrisonI’ve liked sports cars for more yearsthan I can remember. I’ve owned anMGB, MG Midget, a 914 Porsche, but itreally turned into a need for a Corvettewhen my older brother, Alan, built amodel of a C-2 yellow black top convertible car that I thought was the mostbeautiful car I had ever seen. Even today I still think often of that model. In 1998 my wife, Darlene and I both saw a silver 1980 Corvette at Larry Battig’s car lot in Wooster. The next day I took it for a test ride. I toldLarry fix the brakes and it’s sold. It had 24,000 miles on it when we purchased it and after doing some minor modifications and about another35,000 miles on the odometer we sold it and upgraded to the 1999 C-5 wehave today. We joined Mid-Ohio Corvette Club in 2006 and have been very activemembers. We enjoy the cruise-ins and all the socials. We also are verysupportive of our Christian Children’s Home fundraisers.
