MAGNA-CAPMagna-Cap is a titanium-based Magnetic Attachment System based on a closed-fieldmagnetic attraction between small, split pole prosthesis magnets and magnetisableimplant fixtures and root abutments.The high strength of the S-Range magnet is the result of a unique internal pole splitting slot.The slot more effectively separates the poles of the magnets, reducing the merging of themagnetic fields and thus dramatically increasing the breakaway forces.The innovative features of the Technovent Magna-Cap system are:--Closed field magnetic system - the magnet is in denture/prosthesis not in the patient.-An innovative lip design with pre-determined movement tolerances, which providescontrolled prosthesis stability whilst still allowing the stress-breaking advantages ofmagnetic attachments to function.-Simple application technique.-Components have low profile for optimum bone support and simple patient hygienecontrol.-Magnet unit is a split-pole construction design, with proven internal and externalcorrosion resistance.-Autoclaveable using normal autoclave cycle.-CE marked and manufactured to the highest standards of the EC directive.-FDA approved for the USA (510K).

PO ST K EEPER S FIT TED TO R O OTRoot PreparationPrepare flat root face just above gingival level.Prepare a post cavity using Root Face Drill.Undercut counterbore cavity with an inverted cone bur (#5).Direct Fit PostAdjust the post length sothat the keeper fullycontacts the root face.Fitting the PostFit the post keeper inthe root with suitablebonding adhesive material.A Seating Tool is used forsafe handling.Cast Post Copings with InsertEnlarge thecounterbore cavity.Use an impressiontechnique to prepare alaboratory model.The surface element of the Insert Keeperis left exposed above the wax-up forretention in the casting investment.Use precious metal alloy with castingtemperature of 800 C.Fitting the cast Insert KeeperFit the cast Insert Keeper with asuitable dentine/metal bondingadhesive material.Use suitable restorative materialto seal exposed root dentine and theouter conditioned surface of the keeper.A Seating Tool is used for safehandling.

MAG N AC A P O R MAG N A B U TMEN T?MagnacapMagnabutmentImplant has spacer abutment in place.Fitted direct to implant fixturePlace the Magnacap/Magnabutment into a matchingsize Hand/Latch Capfit Tool so that the tool markerscoincide with the flats of the keeper.Screw the Magnacap/Magnabutment into the implantabutment/implant fixture until firmly seated using10-20 Ncm tightening torque.IMPRESSION MAGNETPlace the Impression Magnet directly onto theMagnacap/Magnabutment/ Root Keeper during impression.Lip ensures centralisation without the need for the locator ring.LO C ATO R R IN G SYSTEMPlace the lip element of the magnet into the recessed side of themagnetic alloy ring.Seat the assembly on the Magnacap/Magnabutment/RootKeeper to ensure that the prosthesis magnet does not move andremains centralised on the Keeper during lab processing of theprosthesis or direct pickup technique. Remove after curing.Clean and autoclave sterilise after use.
