PATHWAYS IN PUBLIC HEALTHThe work of improving the public’s health requires a diversityof expertise. The UGA College of Public Health offers graduateprograms that prepare students for careers in professional andacademic settings. DISCIPLINESBIOSTATISTICSBiostatistics is the study of the collection, summary, analysis, andinterpretation of public health and biomedical data in the presence ofuncertainty. Every year, thousands ofpeople are impacted by disasters, often receiving aid only after considerable delay andsuffering.Specialized education is required to affect meaningful improvement in the global responseto disasters and the human suffering that disasters entail.
