WHAT IS SEMESTER AT CSUN?Semester at CSUN (SAC) is a study abroad program that enablesinternational students to attend the university for up to one year. Inall classes, SAC students are integrated with degree-seeking students.Semester at CSUN provides: Access to university classes in a variety of departments Academic credits that may be transferred to a student’shome university Academic advisement and registration assistanceSTUDENT EXPERIENCEThe SAC program focuses on personal support to helpeach student succeed at CSUN and have a memorable andmeaningful semester abroad. Here is what you can expect: Housing – Live in dorms on campus or in apartmentsaround CSUN. Orientation – Start the program with an orientationweek and a “Welcome to L.A.” tour. Campus Life – Join student clubs, play sports, attendspecial events, and access the university’s fitnessand health centers. Student Support – Receive assistance from expertstrained to help international students. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTSAll applicants must: Be at least 18 years old Have completed high school by the program’s start date Have a 2.0 minimum grade point average for universityor high school courses (based on a 4.0 grading system)or equivalent Meet the English-language proficiency requirementfor undergraduate students: TOEFL iBT 61 or IELTS 6.0 (contact the SAC program for country-specificequivalencies that are also accepted).Just finished high school?SAC is for you, too!The SAC program lets you experiencelife as a college freshman. You canlive in the dorms, explore the city,join clubs and Greek life, and earnuniversity credit – all withoutcommitting to a degree. It’s perfect fora gap year or a taste of American life!HOW TO APPLYSTEP 1The Semester at CSUN application is online: go.csun.edu/SAC-applyUpload and submit the required documents with the online application.*STEP 2After you apply, you will receive an email with instructions to: Activate your CSUN username and password. Make an online Program Tuition payment.STEP 3Upon admission, you will receive an acceptance packet and a Form I-20. Using yourForm I-20, apply for an F-1 Student Visa and set your travel plans to enter the U.S.STEP 4You will be assigned an academic advisor to help you select and enroll in CSUN courses.Enrollment is based on eligibility and course availability.STEP 5Arrive in Los Angeles at least one week before the semester begins to attendSAC Orientation.
