The parking lot and drive area square footages are approximates and all contractors shallmake their own field measurements prior to bidding. Your bid shall be based on theactual field measurements and not on the approximate amounts of the square footagesinvolved. No extras will be allowed because of the difference between SMHA supplied squarefootages and the actual field measurements of the contractors. Each contractor shall supply theactual field measurements that they have recorded for the parking lot proposal form whereindicated.2. The oil and grease spots must be cleaned and scraped to remove as much of thismaterial as possible. These spots should then be treated with an oil spot primer andallowed to dry. Acrylic emulsion based primer that bonds tightlywith oil-spotted asphalt surfaces and stops them from coming through seal coatings.3. Where applicable a brand name or equal specification as used in this solicitation, the brandname specification is for the purpose of describing the standard of quality, performance andcharacteristics desired and not intended to limit or restrict competition. Should a contractorobject to the specified product the burden of proof to demonstrate an equal to the specifiedproduct falls upon the challenging contractor to show his product to be equal to or better than theone specified.4. Law, Rules and RegulationsThe work shall comply with all federal, state and local codes, rules and regulations including allordinances and other statutory provisions pertaining to this class of work. Handicap accessiblespots must meet all requirements of the Americans with Disabilities ACT with regard to size,number and markings.
