Greetings From Asbury Park!Well, we made it through 2015! Boy, was it a busy year! One thatwas filled with challenges, growth, and impact. I’m especially proudof our incredible team, network, and volunteers for all their hardwork and dedication. We truly could have not gotten this farwithout their enduring passion for our mission. In 2015, we joined the Alliance to End Hunger, a coalition of ournation’s leading hunger-relief organizations to reduce hunger byfostering greater collaboration; a fundamental concept at Move ForHunger. Last year, Tony Hall of the Alliance to End Hunger declaredthat the new “Sustainable Development Goals”, adapted by the UNto reduce food insecurity worldwide, were a road-map to eliminatingworld hunger by 2030. With nearly 50 million Americans strugglingto keep food on their tables despite our economic recovery, endinghunger in the next 15 years seems daunting, but we are up for thechallenge.2015 was a year of incredible impact for Move For Hunger in thecommunities we serve. Our network has grown to include over 650moving companies, 200 real estate offices, 45 corporatehousing providers, and some of our nation’s leading relocationmanagement companies. These partners are committed toreducing food waste in every aspect of the relocation process. In addition to our day-to-day food collection from people who aremoving, we organized over 400 food drives and began rescuingthousands of pounds of protein bars, peanut butter packs, andsports drinks from some of our nation’s largest races. Altogether,in 2015 we delivered nearly 2 MILLION pounds of food to foodbanks and pantries across North America – enough to provideover 1.6 MILLION meals to individuals in need. With our revamped website in 2015, we saw a record 230,000 visitors – more than double last year’s total! Nearly 30,000 of youused our Find A Mover tool to choose a socially responsiblemoving company, and another 30,000 opted to learn how to holda successful food drive. We won a generous AdWords Grant fromGoogle which has helped us to drive more people to take actionwhile managing it all from an incredible CRM generously donatedby SalesForce. I know I’m geeking out a bit, but it’s technology thathas enabled us to keep costs low and impact high!Last year was also a year of relationship building: We welcomedseveral new partners to the Move For Hunger family includingBristol Global Mobility, Interconex, Arpin Van Lines, National VanLines, Stevens Van Lines, Gentle Giant Moving Company, Redfin, and many other amazing partners. We also strengthenedrelationships with some of our top partners – Atlas Van Lines,Victory Packaging, and Brookfield Global Relocations. There areso many corporate partners that have been supporting our effortsfor years through generous financial and in-kind donations; I can’teven begin to thank you all for the support and enthusiasm youcontinue to show. You Guys Rock! While 2015 was pretty freaking great, 2016 is going to be evenbetter! We hope to organize more food drives and food rescueevents than ever before. We also plan to have over 20 wrappedMove For Hunger trucks on the road by the end of this year – raisingawareness about our mission in communities across North America. We’re planning to roll out a few new programs, add to our team andour board, and continue to put more food on the table for thosestruggling to find a meal. Thank you to everyone who made 2015so amazing, and here’s to fighting hunger in 2016!Sincerely,Adam LowyExecutive Director
