OVERVIEWActivity Description and Target AudienceThe target audience for this meeting includes ophthalmologists in private practice and in academic medicine, residents, fellows,and students, physician assistants, and nursing staff. This educational activity will update practitioners on the latest medicalknowledge available from medical literature, clinical experience and research. The meeting will conclude with optional Retina andOculoplastics case conferences, open to all registrants.Educational ObjectivesAt the conclusion of this educational activity, participants should be able to: Discuss potential problems occurring during cataract surgery. Review retinal dystrophies and the dawn of gene therapy. Compare the various advantages and disadvantages of performing YAG vitreolysis for vitreous floaters. Review ocular surface inflammatory disease. Review new developments in the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye. Analyze ways to safely prescribe opioids. Discuss common and uncommon retina and oculoplastics cases in an interactive setting.Credit StatementThe Southern Regional AHEC designates this live activity for a maximum of 9.75 AMA PRA Category 1 creditsTM.
