PSA on PCIThe PCI Security Standards Council is requiring that software vendors and payment processors make updates tosupport new regulations.These changes are a good thing and will keep you and your constituents’ data more secure.If you are a Blackbaud hosted customer, these changes will be made for you by Blackbaud (and in most caseshave already been made).If you are a self-hosted customer, we strongly recommend that you take the following actions as soon as possible:Review the PCI Security Standards Council ents/Migrating from SSL Early TLS Information%20Supplement v1.pdfIf you are not already running Raiser’s Edge 7.96, plan an upgrade at your earliest convenience.The PCI changes are required to be made by all software vendors and payment processors no later than June2018.Blackbaud will be starting our final wave of changes starting in March 2018. We strongly recommend that youupgrade to RE 7.96 before that time to avoid any disruption of service (such as the inability to process credit cardpayments).Subject to Change.

Raiser’s Edge 7 Roadmap – GDPRIn order to comply, RE needs a tool that allows usto track how a constituent has told us we can (orcannot) contact them.That tool needs to be something that can be usedto segment our donor base for solicitations.Solicit Codes to the rescue!Not so fast if challenged, charities must presentevidence of consent including when consent wasgranted, how it was granted, for what channelsthat consent was relevant, what was said to theconstituent when consent was granted, and whatthe privacy policy was for the charity at the time ofconsent.
