Multiple Paths to Your GoalsIn addition to 85 associate degree and 52technical diploma programs, MATC also offers:Certificates – Targeted, short-term (onesemester) programs designed to prepare youquickly for a career or update your currentjob skills.Four-Year College Transfer – Finish the firsthalf of your bachelor’s degree through LiberalArts and Sciences courses (200-level). Creditsare accepted at public and private four-yearcolleges throughout the state and beyond.We also have 400 four-year college transferagreements that provide transfer of selectedassociate degree programs as the first two yearsof a four-year degree.Apprenticeships – “Learn and earn” a skilledtrade at MATC and on the job through one of20 partner employers.Students attend MATC for a variety of reasons.For those who do not intend to complete adegree or diploma program, success meanscompleting a course or two to gain a specificskill. The total number of annual graduatesincreased 40% since 2002. About 2,700students graduate from the college eachyear. In addition, MATC is committed tothe Completion Challenge, an importantnationwide initiative to increase the numberof graduates 50% by 2020. MATC’s goal is toreach 3,900 graduates in seven years.Report Definitions and QualificationsGraduates: Students who graduated from anassociate degree or technical diploma programin December 2011 and May 2012.MATC District: All of Milwaukee County, thesouthern two-thirds of Ozaukee County andsmall portions of Washington and Waukeshacounties.Employment: The proportion of respondingprogram graduates who are employed perprogram. When fewer than three graduatesfrom a program responded, the percentageof WTCS graduates employed statewide isshown in parentheses but not included in theoverall program average for employed MATCgraduates.Salary Figures: The average salary of MATCgraduates responding to the survey andcomputed per program. When fewer thanthree program graduates provided annualsalary data, state WTCS graduates’ averageannual salaries are provided in parentheses.Otherwise, the data are omitted (noted as**). State median salaries are not included incomputing the overall average program salaryfor MATC graduates.Employment Projections: Job openings foreach college program are the total projectedemployment opportunities for all Wisconsincounties.
