IMPACT UPDATETroopers Rescue Three From House Fire In Allegany Co.(LAVALE, MD) — Two troopershelped rescue three people from aburning house last month inAllegany County.About 4 a.m. on July 15, SeniorTrooper Ersel Wilson andTrooper First Class HunterMcCue were patrolling in the areaof the 1000 block of NationalHighway when Wilson noticedsmoke nearby. The troopers soonresponded to the 1000 block ofNational Highway, and saw firecoming from the rear of a home.on the upper level and got themsafely out of the smoke-filledhouse. While all of the occupantsescaped unharmed, two cats diedin the fire.According to a preliminaryinvestigation by the Office of theState Fire Marshal, smokedetectors were present in thehouse, but failed to initiallyactivate.The two-alarm fire took 30minutes to get under control andit took 56 firefighters toThe troopers forced their way into extinguish the blaze. Sheriff’s Deputy(SALISBURY, MD) — A groupof Maryland state troopers andcadets worked with other alliedagencies earlier this summer inSalisbury, MD to help raise moneyto support the family of a fallenofficer.The troopers and cadets gatheredin support of the Blue LineNetwork on June 19 and helpedraise 7,022.37 in support of thefamily of Wicomico CountySheriff’s Deputy Corporal GlennHilliard. Cpl. Hilliard was fatallyshot while pursing a suspect onJune 12. Cpl. Hilliard, who wasposthumously promoted fromdeputy first class, is survived byhis wife and three children.
