Through every development, building and license approval, we work withapplicants and partners to build the envisioned future of a livable, safe and sustainablecity.The branch consists of nearly 300 employees, divided into four sections.DEVELOPMENT & ZONINGSERVICESSAFETY CODES, PERMITS& INSPECTIONSDIRECTORLivia BaloneDevelopment & Zoning Services oversees all planneddevelopment in Edmonton and makes decisions to ensurethat Edmonton’s built form and business operations reflectCity priorities related to livability, safety, and sustainability.This is done by issuing development permits for all newconstruction, renovations, and changes to building use;updating the Zoning Bylaw, Business Licence Bylaw, andVehicle for Hire Bylaw; monitoring and enforcing ZoningBylaw and development permit compliance; and providingcustomer assistance related to development and businessactivities.
