PREFACEMany different views have been taught through the years on the subjectof Bible prophecy. Some of them have had many good points, while othersdid not seem to fit with the overall prophetic revelation found in the Bible.God revealed His thread of truth concerning end-time events from thebeginning of Genesis to the Book of Revelation. The Old Testamentforeshadowed the actual events. The New Testament also reveals end-timeevents through parables.We know that Jesus taught mostly in parables. A parable is a parallel, asimple story illustrating scriptural truth and insight. Parables are like windowswhich allow you to see truth that has been there all the time but was somehowhidden or out of sight.This book will challenge you to take a fresh look at some of theseparables and scriptural composites found in God’s Word. I invite you to allowthe Holy Spirit to give illumination as we investigate the prophetic Word ofGod.—Charles Capps
INTRODUCTIONYou are about to take a scriptural journey to the end of the age and learnhow God reveals the sequence and time frame of end-time events. I challengeyou to allow the Holy Spirit to bear witness with your spirit concerning thisend-time revelation. I believe you will be enlightened as God’s Word comesalive to you concerning the events that will transpire in God’s timing to fulfillHis Word. My purpose is not to set specific dates, but rather to bring to lightwhat God’s Word has already established concerning the timing of certainprophetic events.We will discover that all Scripture is truly given by inspiration of God.(2 Timothy 3:16.) There is a special reason for every Scripture recorded in theBible. Many Scriptures have a double reference, revealing prophetic insightand details in progressive revelations.We will take a fresh look into the Old and New Testament Scriptures in away that will bring you new insight. They will be referred to at times asscriptural composites, for they are word pictures revealing some events whichhave already been fulfilled and others that are about to be fulfilled.God’s Word to Daniel was: “shut up the words, and seal the book, evento the time of the end ” (Daniel 12:4).We are the generation to which end-time revelation has come.Since God reveals these revelations in numerical order, we will bedealing with biblical numerics. This simply means that God uses numbers aswell as words to confirm revelation. Please don’t get this confused withnumerology, for there is a great difference.We will find that God has stretched numerical truths through theScriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, in a consistent pattern revealing thegeneral time frame of all endtime events.It seems that God has now lifted the curtain on end-time revelation.What former generations sought desperately to know, God is revealing to thislast generation.This book will take you through biblical prophecies and scriptural
composites revealing events yet to come. It will give you a glimpse of God’sinfinite and unfailing love and determination to deliver those who believe inHis Son and trust His prophetic Word. It will reveal details of God’s way ofescape for those who will dare to believe His Word and prepare for thetransition that will end this age.In His own words Jesus revealed that there was a way of escape:“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthyto escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Sonof man” (Luke 21:36).Then in the parable of the nobleman (Luke 19:12-27) the message isclear that we are to occupy till He comes.This book is really a wake-up call for those who have not madepreparations to DO SO NOW and for those who have drifted away from Godto repent and be restored to fellowship.The admonition to the Church is twofold:Proclaim, “The King is coming!”and“Occupy until He comes!”
CHAPTER ONEThere’s a Storm on the HorizonThis generation is blessed beyond any that has lived on planet Earthsince the beginning of creation. We are living in a marvelous time ofprophetic fulfillment, which is good news if you believe in the blessed hope,the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior, Jesus Christ.Yet, as one surveys the prophetic Scriptures and calculates the effect oftheir fulfillment on the modern world, the accumulated results are staggering.We live in a time when weapons of mass destruction are within reach ofalmost any nation in the world. We are being thrust —by time itself—into the time of propheticfulfillment which will end the age.What is yet even harder to comprehend is the magnitude of destructionthat will come upon this planet from the gathering moral decay that is sure tobring God’s wrath upon a wicked world. It is evident that our great societyand our government-sponsored programs are hopelessly out of control, as weare being thrust—by time itself —into the time of prophetic fulfillment whichwill end the age.There are times when I feel somewhat like a meteorologist issuing awarning of an approaching storm. You can imagine how he feels as he tracksa killer tornado on Doppler radar as it approaches a densely populated city.He knows he cannot stop the storm or divert its path. The only hope of savinglives is by warning those in its path in the quickest way possible so that theymight escape before the storm strikes or make a desperate attempt towithstand its devastation.This scenario is a perfect parallel of this generation, for so many todayare unaware of the approaching storm. Some have heard the warning but areunprepared and without hope, believing there is no way of escape. To them,the only ray of hope seems to lie in a desperate attempt to withstand the stormof events that will usher in the seven years of tribulation destined for planetEarth.
There is a real storm brewing, as planet Earth spirals towards acataclysmic transition into the last Millennium before eternity. The signs ofthe times are clear: Planet Earth is winding down, while fulfillment ofprophetic events is escalating profoundly. Our society is now racing down theinformation superhighway at breakneck speed without even asking thequestion, Where are we headed?However, people from every nation, race, and creed are now beginningto ask questions. Environmentalists are sounding alarms about the earth andits atmosphere. New diseases, as well as old ones, that are resistant to modernmedicine seem to appear weekly. Economists juggle multitrillion-dollar debts,without any clear solutions to the problem. Major governments disarm andalmost immediately lose control of their nuclear warheads. Wars and rumorsof wars are heard around the world on a daily basis.Yet for some, the quality of life has never been better. While for others,the cost of living has increased to the point that they are working around theclock to just barely meet their bills. Many are living only by increasing creditcard debt.TWO IMPORTANT QUESTIONSIt is obvious why economic collapse is one of the most frequentwarnings heard worldwide. The very complexity of these problems todaycause us all to consider two questions: Is there any hope for planet Earth?And, where will it all end?The answer to the first question is, yes, there is hope for planet Earth.But this hope is not based on the ability of man to solve the complexproblems facing the inhabitants of the earth in the twenty-first century. Thishope is in the Person of Jesus Christ—the Son of God, the anointed Messiah—and His promised appearance to catch away those who have placed theirfaith in Him and in His resurrection power.This hope also includes Christ’s Second Advent, which will occurimmediately after the Great Tribulation has ended, to destroy the Antichristand begin 1000 years of peace and righteous rule on Earth. During that time,the righteous will be the heads of His government and will rule and reign withHim. The earth will be free from Satan’s influence for 1000 years. For Satanwill be bound and confined to the bottomless pit as Jesus Christ rules andreigns in His Kingdom here on planet Earth.THE END IS IN SIGHT
As we journey through the prophetic pages of God’s Holy Word, we willfind a clear answer to both of our important questions: Is there any hope?And, where and when will it all end? We are all well aware that time willeventually answer these questions, but by then it would be too late to escapethe tribulation destined for those who remain on the earth.Some have sensed the coming events but have many unansweredquestions concerning the future. They are seeking for the answers in thewrong places. Millions seek answers from their horoscopes. Some call“psychic hot lines,” not realizing they are seeking answers from demonicsources. Some put their hope in religious traditions, which so much of thetime fail to give the right answers to these questions. Others have given upbecause they believe God doesn’t want us to know.But the truth is, God wants us to know what is about to happen so wecan be prepared and escape the coming storm and stand before the Son ofMan. (Luke 21:36.)THE LIGHT IS NOW ILLUMINATING THE DARKNESSI am sure you have at times walked into a room where the louveredblinds were tilted at a certain angle. The sun was shining, but until a certaintime of day, the sun didn’t shine into the room. So it is concerning the truth ofmany prophetic Scriptures which have been hidden from us in days past.We are now living in a time when the Holy Spirit’s illumination on theprophetic Scriptures is dispelling the darknessWe are now living in a time when the Holy Spirit’s illumination on theprophetic Scriptures is dispelling the darkness.What a glorious time to be alive! That is, if you are prepared to escapewhat lies ahead for those who are left on planet Earth during the seven yearsof tribulation that is destined for planet Earth.SIGNS OF THE TIMESOne of the discourses given by Jesus predicting end-time events whichwill profoundly affect life on planet Earth is found in Matthew’s gospel:Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciplescame unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? andwhat shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no mandeceive you.5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shalldeceive many.6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be nottroubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.Jesus mentioned four things that would occur in one generation to signalthat the end was drawing near: wars, famine, pestilence, and earthquakes.These signs are being fulfilled almost daily, making everyone consider howclose we must be to the prophesied end.“EARTHQUAKES IN DIVERS PLACES”Jesus made it clear that the occurrence of many earthquakes in differentplaces would be one of the signs of the end-time.Some may say, “We have always had earthquakes.” But earthquakeinformation obtained from the U.S. Geological Survey National EarthquakeInformation Center in Denver, Colorado, shows an astounding increase inearthquakes over the past twenty-six years.A recent U.S.G.S. report shows there were 4,139 earthquakes in 1970—and 19,996 in 1996.1 This is an amazing difference showing an increase of15,857 more earthquakes that occurred in 1996 than in 1970.These facts simply prove once again the accuracy of the Bible’sprophetic revelation. As we head toward the SeventhMillennium, earthquakes are definitely on the increase.In the summer of 1995 USA Today reported that Yellowstone NationalPark experienced 2,300 miniearthquakes in a five-day period.“FAMINE AND PESTILENCE”In the 1960s some medical schools discouraged students from enteringthe field of infectious diseases because they believed that the advances invaccines and antibiotics would soon wipe out infectious diseases. However,thirty years ago, no one had heard of AIDS, and the Ebola virus hadn’t left
behind a wake of dead and dying.The medical profession hadn’t realized that bacteria could mutate andbecome resistant to antibiotics. The World Health Organization neverdreamed that it would fear another outbreak of yellow fever or tuberculosis inthe 1990s. But somehow, in spite of miraculous medical advances andworldwide social programs, the problems of pestilence and famine continue togrow, revealing the nearness of the end of this age.“NATION WILL RISE AGAINST NATION”Some have labeled the twentieth century as the “Century of War.” Thiscentury has seen more wars than any other time in the history of mankind.Yes, there have always been wars, but there are a few things that distinguishthe twentieth century from all others. First, it has the distinction of hosting theonly “World Wars” in history; and second, at no other time in history has manhad the weapons capable of destroying all life on planet Earth—until now.Most nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare wasn’t even thought of atthe turn of the century. The potential for destruction by modern weaponspaints a vivid mental picture, especially when considering the prophecy ofJesus.Matthew 24:21 NKJV For then there will be great tribulatio
