IntroductionThe gnome pantheon consists of threegods, though many gnomes worshipdwarven gods as well. Charis the GnomeFather has a loose organization thatoversees the harvest, funerals, and thedefense of the earth. The Church of theWanderer is devoted to Kela, goddess ofexploration, craftsmen, smiths, andmerchants. Her decentralized churchenjoys crafting, making money, andtraveling. Meiroc the Mad Inventor isserved by the Church of the Gear; acontentious lot constantly striving forgreater power amongst themselves.Inventors and engineers of all races arewelcome, as long as they constantlymaintain their expertise.Shrines to Charis can be found in everygnomish settlement. Surveyors, the headpriests of each temple, meet every fourmonths during the equinox celebrations.Their holy days include the day cropsare planted and the harvest. They alsobless foundations and tools beforeconstruction begins on a new building.generally acknowledged as the head ofthe church, every high priest feels someright to preside. The clergy is full ofdisagreementsandpoliticalmaneuvering. The Church’s holy weekcommemoratesMeiroc’srelativelyrecent ascension to godhood withnumerous feats, clerics collaborating onnew projects, the debuting of strangeinventions, and a culminating ceremonyhonoring Meiroc.HistoryLegend says that when Koorzun, thedwarven god of magic, stepped on to theearth, Charis sprung from the ground. The gnomes have never forgotten theirgratitude towards Koorzun, and theTemple of Rods looks on the gnomes aslittle brothers to their race.A popular tale about Kela says that shewas born when the first star died and fellto the earth. She wanders the NorthernMarches searching for fallen stars thatcould birth another god to travel withher. The Church of the Wanderer centers itstemples near profitable markets, especially in Maus where the highpriests meet. Ceremonies revolve aroundtravel and special blessings are given toanyone beginning a journey. Theirprimary holy day is the Spring Equinoxwhen the traveling season begins and thefaithful resume their explorations.Meiroc was raised to godhood by Chariswithin the last three hundred years. Hisdaughter, The Machinist, is supposedlythe most brilliant gnome who ever lived.Legend says she is hidden behind a lockso complex that only the gods can openit. The largest of Meiroc’s temples standson the outskirts of Maus. Interconnectedbuildings spout flames, explosions, andsteam powered monstrosities on aregular basis causing sensible people tostay away. Although the temple at Mausis the largest and its high priest isThe Church of Charis seeks to ally allchurches of the gnomes and dwarves forthe benefit of the gnome people. TheChurch of the Gear is amenable, buttheir internal discord impedes theprocess. Followers of Charis feel aspecial affinity for followers of KoorzunRelationshipsPage 2 of 10

who they believe caused their deity’sexistence. As deities of good, the gnome pantheonopposes evil deities in general.Specifically, they strive against Gorrim, the dwarven god of murder, andThanatos, god of disease. The Church ofCharis has strained relations with theChurch of the Crown and Sword sincefollowers of Dhumnon have littleinterest in sharing their power. TheTemple of Rods does not get along wellwith the Wizard’s Cabal. Due to theiralliance, neither does the Church ofCharis.Membership RequirementsLay Worshippers Must worship a single deity ofthe pantheon. Must have one rank inKnowledge (religion).
