2019 Corvette Championship Drag Racing Series - Round OneRound one of the 2019 Corvette Championship Drag Racing Series was held at The Stripon a cool Sunday, February 17th, 2019. Only six LVCA hot Corvettes with their owners were inattendance due to the forecast cool temperatures and the threat of rain. The Strip track crewdid an outstanding job of track prep and once the temps warmed up a bit and the racingstarted, we found out how sticky the track was. After three practice rounds (time trials), theLVCA drag racers got down to business and moved into the elimination rounds. The long winter break dulled the drag racing skills of our elderly racers a bit—Several red lights and breakouts. However, Pat Russell showed the rest of us how it should be done with a .008 secondreaction time and the near perfect dial-in time during the first round. After three rounds ofeliminations, a first-time winner won—WELL DONE Chris Burkett. I would like to personallythank all of the LVCA members for coming and participating in our first drag race of the year. For those of you who might be interested in drag racing, please check out the LVCA web siteunder the Competition/Ladies and Gentlemen Start your Engine tabs. Former member andLVCA racing champion, Cathy Wilson, put together a great explanation of E.
