Moreover, trendsshow that tomorrow everything inside the4EXTERIOR LIGHTING Side Repeater Puddle Lamp LEDs / Bulbs*Future Trendsdoor will be automated based on newdriving concepts like smart automaticdoor opening where sensors will detectapproaching pedestrians or cyclists andautomatically control the door opening.ST’s new Door Zone family consists of arange of system ICs specifically designedto integrate in a single package all themain components and functions requiredto manage these new and advancedautomotive door applications.

A TYPICAL DOOR ZONE MODULEINCLUDES THREE KEY BLOCKS:1. Actuator drivers Integrated half bridges for Motor Control(Mirror Folding & X-Y Adj, Lock& Dead-Lock) H-Bridge drivers for Window Lifter orPower Tail Gate, gate drivers for mirrorheater and electrochromic glass High-side drivers for LEDs and bulb suppliesDOOR ZONE SYSTEMS ICIntegrating all these functions inside a single die,ST’s L99DZ100G(P) door zone system IC provideselectronic control modules with enhanced powermanagement functions, including various standbymodes, as well as LIN and HS CAN physicalcommunication layers.2. DOOR ZONE TOPOLOGIESDifferent topologies can be covered by usingthe Door Zone devicesKEY FEATURES Decentralized Single Chip Topology Centralized Lock Topology Front Drives Rear Topology Mechatronic Mirror Topology The Power Trunk SolutionDECENTRALIZED SINGLECHIP TOPOLOGYThe Decentralized Single ChipTopology consists of a single chipdedicated to each of the doorsin the car; the L99DZ100G(P) isdesigned for front doors whilethe L99DZ120 covers the typicalloads required by rear doors.CENTRALIZED LOCK TOPOLOGYThe Centralized Lock Topologyuses a single chip dedicated toeach door, but all the locks in thecar use our L99UDL01.The L99DZ100G(P) outputs, typically dedicated to door locks, are used to drive high current (upto 7.5A) required to fold mirrors.6

FRONT DRIVE REAR TOPOLOGYThe Front Drive Rear Topologypositions the main electronicsof the front and rear doors insidethe front door module (bothdriver and passenger sides). TheL99DZ200G is developed for thisparticular topology being able todrive from the front position twowindow lifts, the one located inthe front door and the one locatedin the rear one.For this topology, the lock iscentralized and can be driven bythe L99UDL01 positioned in acentralized BCM.MECHATRONIC MIRROR TOPOLOGYThe Mechatronic Mirror Topologyembeds all the electronicsneeded by the mirror in a singledevice (the L99MM70XP) locatedinside the mirror itself. In atypical car architecture using theMechatronic Mirror topology, the door lock management iscentralized and can be addressedby means of the L99UDL01 whichis able to drive all the locks ofthe car from its central position. The remaining part of the doorelectronics (mainly the windowlift) is implemented by means ofdiscrete devices.7

POWER TRUNK SOLUTIONThe Power Trunk Solution ispowered by the L99DZ200Gdevice. Thanks to its twointegrated h-bridge drivers(configurable in Single or Dualmode), the L99DZ200G is ableto manage both spindle motorsused to raise and lower the PowerTrunk as well as the e-latch thatlocks the Power Trunk itself. The L99DZ200G can also beused to manage the other typicalloads located in the PowerTrunk (buzzer, Hall-effect sensorsupplies, LED and bulb suppliesand more).DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT TOOLEvaluations kitsEVAL-L99DZ100G:dedicated evaluation board withL99DZ100G(P) – L99DZ120daughterboards, drivers & user-friendlyGUI.
