WELCOME MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT OF CoR AND MyRADAsalamualaikum,Dear Colleagues and Friends,2022 is a turning year after two years of unprecedented events due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which hasaffected the health of many lives and caused economic disruptions worldwide. We look forward to theupcoming challenges and opportunities ahead for our colleagues and friends in the reopening of conferencesthat have been adapted to modern times.I am excited about the new changes happening to the College of Radiology. This year we have raised thebar in international networks with the ESR meets Malaysia in July 2022 in Vienna, Austria, and KSR meetsMalaysia in September 2022 in Seoul, Korea.We also successfully set up a fully registered society for the academic arm of the College of Radiology. It iscalled the Malaysia Society of Radiologists, or MyRAD for short. The motto is ‘Enhancing radiology. ElevatingLearning’. In the future, conferences for CoR will be handled by MyRAD.Much effort and work have gone into planning the MCOR 2022 and MyRAD Congress,which will be held in Ascott Gurney Penang, from 7th to 9th December 2022. TheCongress is held in the UNESCO Heritage City of Georgetown.The MCOR /MyRAD 2022 theme is Precision Imaging: Beyond Pixels and Positronwhich is specially curated to reflect the future of imaging, bridging structure andfunction.I would like to welcome all radiology colleagues; members and non-membersand those interested in radiology to senior radiologists to join us this year inPenang. It is time for us to re-connect and re-establish our network.To our international colleagues reading this message, Malaysia is ready towelcome all of you in 2022 to our wonderful country. WELCOME MESSAGE FROM MCOR 2022 ORGANISING CHAIRWarm greetings.We are excited to announce that Malaysian Congress of Radiology 2022 will be goingto Penang this year. Do mark your calendars from the 7th to 9th December 2022.The theme for this year’s meeting is Precision Imaging: Beyond Pixels and Positrons.This theme addresses the expectations of current modern medicine that imaging hasto be meticulous and definitive. This is consistent with how important imaging is inassisting the clinician to diagnose and manage multitude of diseases and ailments.Our theme will further illustrate that radiology is not just about conventional X-raysor scans, but includes also the realm of nuclear and hybrid imaging, which is swiftlybecoming the mainstay of imaging today. It will also highlight the expanding role ofthe radiologist as imaging goes beyond diagnosis and enters the realm of diseasemanagement and treatment.Radiology trainees, you will greatly benefit from attending this Congress as we are also going to dedicate afull day lecture hall on Day 3 to cover radiology exam preparations. This session will include tips and tricksfrom experienced examiners as well as viva practice sessions.As always, we welcome everyone to submit their abstracts in our call for abstracts. There will be prizes for theBest Free Paper Oral Presentation.Malaysian Congress of Radiology 2022 will also highlight the extremely competitive and riveting Dato’ Samadquiz. This quiz re-ignites the friendly inter-university rivalry between radiology trainees. P values should never be presentedalone without the actual data that are beingcompared. Do not use reference citations in theabstract. 8.For medical terms such as proper nouns, genericnames of medicines, and units of measurement,use the original term. The use of acronyms andabbreviations is discouraged and should be keptto a minimum. When used, they are to be definedwhere first used, followed by the acronym orabbreviation in parentheses. Measurements andlaboratory values should be in accordance withthe International System of Units (SI).9.Ensure correct use of the terms sex (whenreporting biological factors) and gender(identity, psychosocial or cultural factors), and,unless inappropriate, report the sex or genderof study participants, the sex of animals or cells,and describe the methods used to determinesex or gender. If the study was done involvingan exclusive population, for example in only onesex, authors should justify why, except in obviouscases (e.g., prostate cancer). Authors shoulddefine how they determined race or ethnicityand justify their relevance.10. The names and locations (city and state orcountry) of manufacturers of equipment andnon-generic drugs should be given.11.8Ensure that all changes, corrections andproofreading have been carried out beforesubmission.Notification of Acceptance1. Review of abstracts will take 4 to 6 weeks fromthe abstract submission deadline.2. All abstracts will be reviewed by the ScientificCommittee. The Committee reserves the right toselect the abstracts and assign the sessions andfinal format of presentation. The decision of theCommittee is final.3. Results will be announced by 15th October2022.4.
