DRILLINGGENERAL INTRODUCTION02Huisman offers complete drilling packages and isdedicated to explore and realise new solutions to improvedrilling operations. Our projects are typically complex andinnovative, requiring solution-aimed thinking, technicalexcellence and partnerships with our clients. This hasalready resulted in a number of new value-adding solutionsand orders for innovative and technically challengingdrilling equipment sets.In 2005 Huisman introduced its first land drilling rig to themarket: the LOC 250. This was a fully containerised supersingle drilling rig for use on land. The introduction was soonfollowed by the LOC 400. Currently new land rig designsare developed that are able to efficiently drill multiple wellson one drill site.Huisman is continuously exploring and realising new stepchanging solutions to improve drilling operations. The Huismandrilling systems can reduce the flat time by doubling the trippingspeed. Moving onwards, the focus point is to further improveefficiency and reduce HSE risks by fully automating the drillingsystem. Currently the land rigs are already able to trip in andout of the hole fully automatic, without the need of any peopleon the drill floor.LOC 400 drilling unit at work45
