Schools closed for Summervacation. Sunday school classes over. Children are in a holiday mood. We are eagerlywaiting for Vacation Bible School, which is to be held from July 25 th to 28th. Pleasemake sure to register and send your children for VBS. I would like to congratulate andappreciate all our children graduated. Summer is the time of various conferences organized by the diocese. It is good to attend conferences. It’s a time for study and reflection, to listen from eminent speakers on various themes, to rededicate ourselves, and toget to know each other from all over the diocese.Our parish is privileged to host the 5th Senior Fellowship National conference fromSeptember 25th to 28th, 2019. I request your prayers and wholehearted support. Thetheme is “Fear not, stand still” Exodus 14:13. Register as early as possible by paying100 dollars and attend the conference. We need compliments in souvenir, your housesto accommodate the members and clergy coming from far places and also financialsupport. As Ascension family let us come together and make this conference a greatsuccess.Our new Youth Chaplain Rev. Thomas K, Mathew, and family arrived on May 9 th andstarted his ministry. Achen is assigned only for the Parishes in Philadelphia center andis staying in Youth Chaplain’s parsonage in Philadelphia; he will be available all thetime here. Second Saturday and Sundays are exclusively for the ministry of our Parish.I request youth fellowship, Sunday School, and young family to make use of his time.I wholeheartedly welcome Thomas K. Mathew Achen and family to Ascension Family.We have many programs and activities in the coming months. VBS, Harvest festival,Parish convention, Family Sunday, and the special days of various organizations. Letus pray and actively participate in all the programs of our parish.The month of June and July, the new batch of students completed theological trainingare getting ordained and entering into the ministry of the church. Let us rememberthem in our prayers. The ministry of Church is a ministry of servanthood. Servants arethe most ordinary people with extraordinary humility, vision, and love. Jesus is theideal servant model. Prayer Meetings - September- 2019From Youth Chaplain’s DeskSharonDearly Beloved in ChristWe are grateful for the warm welcome we received from the Ascension Mar Thoma Churchfrom the time we have arrived here, and we hope that we will be able to build our friendshipin the coming years during our ministry here.We also had an opportunity to participate in the Youth Fellowship meeting at the residenceof Nancy Abraham. I was glad to meet many of the youths of the parish and also interactwith them. I thank Jinson Achen for arranging this occasion. I hope that more youths willjoin our meetings, which are now being held on the 1st and 3rd Fridays every month.The South East regional Sunday School is organizing the Junior-Senior Conference for ourSunday school children from the 27th to the 30th of June at Ramapo College, New Jersey.
