PRINCIPAL’SMESSAGESpring / Summer 2017As the spring semester approaches,the work of the Education to CareerNetwork, of which Escondido AdultSchool is a member, is moving into fullswing. Several major components ofits action plan are being implementedwhich include the enhancement ofstudent transitions services, increasedmarketing, and a computer devicecheck-system for students.In recent weeks, an expandedmarketing campaign has begunwhich includes targeted Facebookads; advertising throughout theNorth County Transit System includingbuses and the Sprinter, paid spots oncable channels, updated collateralmaterieals, and a more robust websitewww.educationtocareer.net. Withthe addition of a new transitionscoordinator, students now receiveincreased individualized attentionto navigate through programs atthe adult school, between the adultschool and other postsecondaryoptions, and into employment.Another student support is theavailability of a computer checkout system for students who wish toaccelerate their progress but whomay not have access to devices athome.Finally, on a more personal note, after38 years in adult education, I will beretiring at the end of this school year.It has been an honor and pleasure tobe part of the Escondido communityas well as the Escondido Union HighSchool District, all of whom havebeen extremely supportive of ourprograms.
