APM IntegrityHelping to keep facilities contained and compliant

Business ChallengesWith ever increasing safety and environmental constraints,it is critical that operators can ensure the safe operationand containment of their processes. Mechanical integrityregulations require a significant amount of data be capturedto ensure process equipment is designed, fabricated, installed, operated, and maintained properly to mitigateassociated risks. This generates a significant amount of datathat companies must manage; making it increasingly difficultto understand current risk levels and drive optimization ofmechanical integrity inspection and engineering resources.Inspection groups need an integrated set of toolsand work-processes to understand risk by profilingasset degradation mechanisms and containmentthreats and generating optimized inspection strategiestargeted at mitigating these risks.A continuous loop ofimprovementPredix Asset Performance Management (Predix APM) is asuite of software and service solutions designed to helpoptimize the performance of your assets. Predix APMincreases asset reliability and availability while optimizingmaintenance costs, mitigating operational risks, and reducingtotal cost of ownership (TCO). The suite connects disparatedata sources and uses advanced analytics to turn datainto actionable insights while fostering collaboration andknowledge-management across the organization. PredixAPM works across all equipment, all OEMs, and all industries, across the plant, and across the fleet.ImproveAvailability &ReliabilityOutcomesReduceCostsManageRisk

APM IntegrityAPM Integrity, a Predix APM solution, enables a closed loop mechanical integrityprogram across your enterprise to reduce risk, lower inspection costs, andmanage regulatory compliance of your fixed equipment. Using an integrated setof tools, APM Integrity enables you to calculate risk, inspection priority, and theremaining useful life of assets to generate, implement, and execute optimizedinspection strategies while streamlining auditability and compliance governance. The solution helps facilitate compliance with various Process Safety Management(PSM) requirements such as process hazard analysis, mechanical integrity, andmanagement of change.APM Integrity can help you:Develop inspection strategies to mitigate risk and optimize inspection costs.Enable compliance with PSM requirements including hazard identification, mechanical integrity, and management of change requirements.Integrate compliance and integrity initiatives across your enterprise tomaximize asset availability and lower the likelihood of catastrophic incidents.LEARN MORE

Capabilities of APM IntegrityRisk based inspectionSince many inspection programs are mandated by regulatoryagencies, with the power to apply significant penalties fornon-compliance, many organizations are turning to risk basedinspection (RBI) as preferred methodology for optimizing theirmechanical integrity programs. RBI can help your organization: Reduce turnaround exposure Extend inspection intervals/reduced inspection scope Optimize inspection and maintenance costsThe RBI capability, within APM Integrity, enables you to perform RBIassessments through the following baseline methods: RBI-580: adheres to API RP 580 work process withsemiquantitative calculation models RBI-580 flexible framework: adheres to API RP 580work process with configurable calculation models RBI-581: adheres to API RP 580 work process withquantitative calculation models as per API-581, 3rdeditionEach approach provides the ability to assess the likelihood andconsequences of failure and results in a prioritized list of assetswith optimized inspection plans based on their risk rank. Optimizedinspection plans generated from RBI can seamlessly integrate intoinspection management and/or your EAM or CMMS system forscheduling and execution.Inspection managementThe inspection management capability provides the ability to drivelarge-scale inspection programs and helps facilitate compliancewith federal, state, and local requirements including the APIstandards. Inspection management allows asset owners andoperators to manage inspection plans, document the condition ofan asset on a mobile device, and track inspection recommendationsto closure from a single source.Compliance management functionality, allows users automate anddrive a greater degree of auditability in their inspection planningprocess. Once assets are integrated from an EAM system toPredix APM, compliance management will automatically generatean inspection plan and scope based on the regulatory code andclassifications that apply to an asset or group of assets. Thissimplifies the inspection planning process and allows plannersto “manage by exception” as opposed to a manual planning andscoping process. This capability will also alert planners if an inservice asset does not have the proper inspection plan in place.Mobile inspection capabilities enable inspectors to captureinspection data electronically in the field using a tablet or mobiledevice without being connected to a network.Real customer results:Saved annually in inspection costsImprovement due to change in collectiveSaved annually by using riskLearn MoreMTBF in piping from 172 days to 2124 daysbased inspection capabilityLearn MoreLearn MoreThickness monitoringEffective thickness measurement and monitoring activities are anessential component of a mechanical integrity program. Thicknessmonitoring defines the overall nondestructive testing (NDT)strategy for an asset, including the calculation methods, inspectionintervals, and minimum corrosion rates. With the thickness monitoring capability, you can: Drill-down to the measurement locations for visibilityinto corrosion rate details and trends, currentfindings, and calculated next inspection date Pressure minimum thickness calculations, combinedwith current corrosion rate calculations, providescorrosion analysts with the estimated remaining lifeand projected retirement date for an asset View half-life charts and measurement trends, whichprovide visibility to the measurement data over time, along with the option to view the controlling corrosionrate associated with the thickness measurementlocationThickness monitoring offers seamless integration with manyUT field measurement devices. Thickness inspection resultsand associated documentation are formatted for viewing orprinting capability.

Capabilities of APM IntegrityHazard analysisThe Hazard analysis capability is based on international hazardanalysis standards such as IEC 61882 Hazard and OperabilityStudies Application Guide. A hazard analysis includes a definitionof scope, potential causes that could lead to a consequence, safeguards that mitigate and/or prevent the consequence fromoccurring, and recommendations, which can be used to createstrategy actions, thereby enabling a “closed loop” approach tohazard analysis. The Hazard analysis capability provides two standard methods forconducting such analyses: Hazard and Operability study (HAZOP) What-If AnalysisAlso included is Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), which is atype of risk assessment that helps evaluate the frequency of eventsthat can cause a hazard, the likelihood of failure of independentlayers of protection, and the consequences, providing an estimateof risk associated with a scenario.Real customer results:Lower long-termincident costs byManagement of changeThe management of change (MOC) capability follows a systematicapproach to delivering a change, taking into consideration allaspects of operations which will or could be impacted becauseof the change. Using MOC, changes are undertaken as “changeprojects.” In a change project, changes are formally introduced, approved, and implemented as tasks. MOC provides a flexiblesolution for creating and managing change projects, communicatingchanges to team members, and enforcing an approval system toprovide accountability for the change. With MOC, users are able tocomply with change management requirements by relating recordsfrom other Predix APM solutions to ensure that all impacted areasof the organization are recorded as changed elements in the changeproject. This, in turn, provides organizations with a greater degreeof auditability, which is essential in industries that require MOC as aregulatory compliance requirement.
