International AdmissionsTrine Feuerborn, OU Undergraduate International Admissions, tfeuerborn@ou.edu Background Responsible for processing all applications fordomestic and international undergraduate andgraduate students applying to OU Works closely with CESL, SJS and ISS during theadmissions process and in transitioning students tomain campus Works closely with Education abroad to verifyaccreditation, credit hours and courseequivalencies before and after the student’s stayabroad. We are working with housing and food to identifyinternational students and assign them housingahead of their arrival.

International Admissions Challenges and Lessons Transition between CESL and degree program including applicationdocument submission, academic advising and placement and timelyadmission decisions. Collaboration between several departments to create a timeline for CESLand SJS students to follow, specific times/dates to submit documents,provide academic advising prior to admission, and a manageableadmission deadline to make decisions. Minimal reports of international student populations maintained by university. Developed more thorough reports to track international studentpopulations to be more strategic in recruitment, admissions andprogramming.

International Admissions Future Goals Create a streamlined applicationprocess for CESL and SJS students whowant to pursue a degree at OU. Provide all ISS, CESL and SJS staffaccess to the student databasesystem (Banner) and filing system(Laserfiche) to facilitatecommunication and collaboration. Use the international studentpopulation reports to develop andimplement a strategic recruitmentplan, enrollment managementprocedures and relevant studentprograms.

ISS has begun inviting other offices to join thesepresentations.
