Chapter 1The Most Important HealingIn the beginning, God created the heavens andthe earth. And all was perfect.There was Adam and there was Eve. There werethe animals. There was perfect harmony among allcreation. There was uninhibited communicationbetween God and man.And then sin entered the world through Adamand Eve’s decision to disobey God’s command.And when sin entered the world, it brought with itdeath. And with death came sickness.Today, there are many forms and manifestations of sickness. There is sickness of the mind,sickness of the heart, sickness of the body.But most important of all, there is a sickness ofthe soul. And everyone, from birth, is born withthis sickness. entered the world when Adam and Eve disobeyedGod. It is sin.We are all born with the sickness of sin. and does not doubt in his heart, but believesthose things he says will be done, he will havewhatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whateverthings you ask when you pray, believe that you receive (Greek ‘take’) them, and you will have them”(NKJ, personalized).You must take the promises of God before yousee them. This is the difference between a healingand a miracle. A miracle is an instant healing and ahealing is a gradual miracle.The promises of God are like seeds in the natural realm. Once the seeds are planted, as long asyou do not dig them up and as long as you get ridof the weeds, you do not only hope they will grow,you know they will! But we are often prone to digging up the seeds of His promises or letting weedsstrangle our faith in them. We dig up the seeds ofGod’s promises by agreeing with our symptomsand not the Word of God. We let weeds strangleour faith in His promises by allowing things likeunforgiveness (Mark 11:25-26) and other unrepented sin to take root in our lives.Having faith like the Bible describes is an evenstronger type of faith than believing before yousee. You must aggressively take your healing nomatter how long it takes to get from the invisibleworld to the visible world. Matthew 11:12, “And from the days of John theBaptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffersviolence, and the violent take it by force” (NKJ). Inother words, the battle is in your mind. You mustviolently cast down every thought or imaginationthat is contrary to the Word of God. This does notmean you deny symptoms. You are to deny thesymptoms the right to stay and have a foothold inyour life. Get forceful and command them to leave.Symptoms caused by the devil will stay arounduntil they know you will not give up!By faith, call those things that are not as if theywere: “ God calls those things which do notexist as though they did” (Romans 4:17, NKJ). Thisis not just positive thinking. As you will learn bygoing through this book, meditating on God’sWord is more than just saying words.Meditating on God’s Word means speaking intoexistence His own promises from His own Word.It is not a ritual – it is truly believing in your heartthe promises you are confessing.*I had the privilege of knowing Kathryn Kuhlman and seeing her minister.
