Intending contractors are advised in their own interest to visit the site of workand familiarise themselves with the site conditions before submitting theirtenders.2. The work being repair in nature, the contractor has to execute the items in partsor patches as shown by the EIC. No claim for extra payment for executing theitems of works in parts or patches at different locations shall be entertained. Thecontractor’s quoted rates should cater for the same.3. The quoted rates for items should cover the costs of all appropriate materials,labour, machinery, tools, plants and all appliances what so ever necessary forthe complete execution of the work.4. The contractor will not be entitled for any compensation due to enactment of anylaw, regulation etc. on account whether the same is / are enforced by State /Central Govt. during the tenure of the contract, other than the GST, as per therelevant Acts & Rules . Any other tax or levy on materials or any elements inrespect of this contract, shall be payable by the contractor and Air India will notentertain any claims whatsoever in this respect. The contractor’s rates shouldcater for the same.5. The quoted rates shall be exclusive of the GST, as per the relevant Acts &Rules.6. The bills for the work should have GST registration number printed or stampedon it and should show the amount of GST separately (at the prevailingapplicable rate). Bills shall not be processed without fulfilling the aboverequirement.8

7. The contractor shall produce documentary proof of GST paid to Govt. authoritieson completion of the subject tender, before the release of security deposit.8. The premises shall always be kept clean and Air India staff working near the siteshall not be disturbed by the contractor’s labourers while working at site. Thework shall be planned and executed in consultation with users of Air India facilityas well as EIC.9. Debris should be removed immediately and stacked at specified locations failingwhich the same shall be carried out at contractor’s risk and cost. Thecontractor’s supervisor should meet the EIC every day and inform aboutcommencement and progress of work.10. All the safety precautions, rules and regulations are required to be observedstrictly during progress of the work. Work permits as applicable for the work shallbe obtained from regulatory authorities of Air India before starting any work.11. Proper care shall be taken by the contractor to avoid any damage to Air Indiaproperty and injuries to people while executing the work.12. The contractor shall submit “Workmen Compensation Policy” as per theWorkmen Compensation Act 1923 & its Amendments, for all workers under thiscontract, with appropriate wages of workers. The validity of the policy shall bethe contract period plus period of extension, if delayed due to any reason andDefect Liability Period. The Policy Proposal Document is to be submitted to theEIC and contractor has to amend the policy proposal as per the instructions ofthe EIC.13. The contractor shall submit “Contractor’s All Risk Policy” with a policy valueequivalent to the amount of work order of this work, with Air India Ltd. as the 1stPolicy Holder name and contractor’s name as the 2nd Policy Holder. The validityof the policy shall be the contract period plus period of extension, if delayed dueto any reason and Defect Liability Period. Work shall be started only aftersubmission of Workmen Compensation Policy & Contractor’s All Risk Policy.14. Restrictions for working in Engineering area: Contractors should get familiarisedwith the working conditions in Engineering area such as meeting variousregulatory requirements for entry permit for workers, Hot job, electricalconnections, entry and exit timings, entry restrictions during VIP aircraftmaintenance works etc. The contractor’s quoted rate should cater for the same.15. The site of work is security sensitive zone of Old Airport. The contractor andworkmen shall have to strictly observe the security rules and regulations of AirIndia. The contractor shall arrange the Police NOC and other securityrequirements for getting entry permits. Air India will only recommend therequired procedures and the contractor shall be responsible in getting the entrypermits in time. Any expenditure towards security passes, NOCs etc. shall be9

borne by the contractor. The contractor shall be responsible for the conduct ofhis workmen. The contractor shall arrange for safe storage of the materialsbeing used for the works.16. Mobilisation advance shall not be paid by Air India on any account.17. Air India reserves itself the right to accept or reject any tender either in part orwhole without assigning any reason for doing so and does not bind itself toaccept the lowest or any tender.18. The security deposit @ 10% shall be retained for the defects liability period ofone year from date of completion of the work.19. The quantities stated in the bill of Quantities are tentative. The contractor shallbe paid at the quoted rates and on the basis of actual measured dimensions offinished work. The mode of measurement shall be as given in the itemdescription or Air India standard specifications .In case not specified, themeasurements shall be generally in accordance with IS : 1200, Methods ofmeasurements of building works. The decisions of EIC regarding mode ofmeasurements shall be final and binding.20. The contractor shall produce the authentic receipts of materials purchasedwhich are required for this particular work, as and when demanded by Air India,in order to settle any dispute arising during contract period.21. WORKING AT HEIGHT ON FRAGILE ROOF – SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS1. Use ladders / access stands / scaffolds etc. made of sound material with goodmechanical construction and adequate strength.2. Make sure that scaffolds have adequate horizontal supports and should not wobble.3. Use nylon safety harnesses of approved quality. Make sure that it is worn correctly andbuckled up firmly.4. Make sure that safety harnesses worn by the employees are firmly anchored to a strongand rigid structural member available in the vicinity of the work spot.5. Make sure that the length of the lifeline / lead of the safety harness is just sufficient toallow a person to fall by not more than 2 (two) feet.6. Use approved safety helmets which must also be secured correctly and firmly under thechin.7. Cordon off the area below the work spot and appropriate placards shall be displayednear the site of work.8. Do not step or attempt to cross over and asbestos cement sheet roof for any reasonwhatsoever, if one exists nearby.9. Do not get distracted from the job while on scaffolds.10.
