Services are offered at theTang Center on campus as well as virtual phone and videoappointments for many of our services. International Student RequirementsFull-Time Student StatusVisa and ImmigrationBerkeley International Office encourages all internationalstudents traveling to Berkeley to enroll full-time and obtain theappropriate student visa status for study. In most cases, visitinginternational students should apply for an F-1 visa. Internationalstudents with an F-1 I-20 certificate of eligibility documentissued by UC Berkeley must be enrolled full time for the entiresummer session period noted on your I-20. Full-time studentstatus varies depending on what session(s) you enroll in anddoes not apply for students taking online classes. For details,see ull-time.International (non-immigrant) students coming to the UnitedStates from abroad with the primary intention of study shouldnormally obtain F-1 visa status for Summer Sessions (Studentswho wish to attend in J-1 visa status should review informationhere: eed docs). At I-House, you will spendyour summer living with a diverse group of residents, includinggraduate students, laboratory researchers, visiting scholars,and exchange students from around the world. To qualify forsummer residency, you must be over the age of 18 and enrolledin full-time study or research at UC Berkeley or a nearby,approved educational institution.University Housing has many housing options available thatprovide convenience and safety for students, fostering anenvironment for success that you can’t find off-campus.Residence Halls include shared lounges and communalbathrooms with all-gender and single-gender floors. Apartmentsare single-gender that share a bathroom, kitchen, and livingroom. All locations are furnished, equipped with wirelessinternet, utilities, custodial services, and more!Additionally, live-in Residential Life staff provide communitydevelopment activities, wellness programs, and social outings toensure a successful and fulfilling summer.I-House offers fully furnished double and single roomaccommodations.
