Ifinterested contact Carrie.Don’t forget in January the PER’s will be interviewing candidates for incomingofficers for 2009-10. The Trustees and all committees will be working on theirbudgets and requests for budget items for 2009-10.It was great the way the Lodge members stood up and helped out in supportingthe relief effort for Jeff, Carter and family and friends of our Sister Cara.On Saturday December 6th we served lunch for 200 members of the309 th CYOPS Army Reserve unit at the Belton VFW in conjunction withthe Grandview Lodge. CASS COUNTY ELKS 2791 HOOP SHOOT CONTESTCass County Elks 2791 held their National Hoop Shooting Free Throw contest on Dec. 6 that the Harrisonville Middle School. Hoop Shoot Director, Steve Kagar ice, said they had61 contestants from Cass County Schools between 8 and 13 years of age. Each contestantshot the best out of 25. The first place winners will advance to districts which will be heldin Harrisonville at the Middle School on January 10, 2009. It seems like just yesterday we took ouroffices. Time sure does go fast when you are so actively involved in the lodge.I wish to thank all of the memberswho have helped support the Benevolent Trust this year. Because of you and your annual donations, we have madeour per capita and will now be able to continue our support for the mobile dental van. I also want to especially thankRichard Collier for all of his hard work and dedication to earn our lodge the privilege to host the Elks mobile dentalvan in Spring 2009. I know many people will now have the opportunity to receive dental care that they may not havebeen able to receive if not for this wonderful program. Richard is to be commended for his efforts and I would like allof you to please take the time to shake his hand and say thanks!I also have been doing double duty serving on the house committee for the last few months. I would like to givecredit where credit is due to a wonderful couple who have really stepped up to the plate. They are Gayle and JeffWyse. Gayle and Jeff have cooked with me on a breakfast and dinner crew. Their help is greatly appreciated and theyare a great part of the team to support our lodge. Reminder! If anyone else would like to volunteer their services fora cooking crew, please contact Carrie at the lodge or any house member for information.Don’t forget the upcoming Gun show on January 23,24,25! Come out for Friday night dinner and enjoy a MexicanDinner. Jeff, Gayle and I are whipping up Beef and Chicken enchiladas with all the trimmings. Also if you would like tohelp work the gun show, please see Carrie to sign up. We need several more volunteers to make it a success. A veryBIG Thank you goes to Jim Larose and Richard Collier for all of your hours of work organizing and planning this greatevent!RAFFLE TIME!!!!The house committee and bartenders will be selling raffle tickets for a 42 inch Vizio Flat Screen HDTV during themonth of January.
