C H A P T E R7Cisco Emergency Responder ConfigurationThis chapter provides an overview of how Cisco Emergency Responder was configured for CiscoUnified Communications Release 5.0 testing for IP telephony. This chapter does not include detailedinstallation and configuration instructions. Rather, it is intended to provide you with guidance and serveas a reference model as you set up the Cisco Emergency Responder in your IP telephony system.Cisco Emergency Responder was installed on a Cisco MCS 7845-H1 Unified CallManager Applianceand configured according to the instructions in the Cisco Emergency Responder documentation. Ingeneral, default or recommended configuration values were used.One Cisco Emergency Response Server was installed with Cisco Unified CallManager to testinteroperability between clusters using various Cisco Unified CallManager releases. OneCisco Emergency Responder server was installed in each Multi-Site Centralized Clustering over theWAN with SRST site.Note Cisco Emergency Responder supports Cisco SIP. If you deploy third-party SCCP or SIP endpoints, you must manually configure them inCisco Unified CallManager with their actual MAC addresses. If you use version 8.0of McAfee virus scanning software on the Cisco Emergency Responder server, you must unblockcommunication to port 25 on remote servers.
