College Admission Options EARLY ACTION is a nonbinding admissions procedure to notifystudents of early admissions to the college. Students are notcommitted to accept the college’s offer of admissions and mayfile other applications. EARLY DECISION is a binding commitment. You may apply earlydecision to only one college, usually by October 15 of your senioryear. You are notified of your status by December 1. As part ofan early decision plan, you are required to sign a statementagreeing to accept the college’s offer of admission. You mustalso withdraw your application from other colleges if acceptedunder Early Decision. (Used by Duke, Elon, Wake Forest, etc.)
