BenefitsStarbucks prides itself on our partners. We offer eligible partnersworking full-time or part-time comprehensive benefits, includinghealth coverage (medical, dental and vision), life insurance anddisability coverage (for eligible positions). Along with health coverage,your benefits at Starbucks include tuition reimbursement, employeeassistance, adoption assistance and more.INITIAL BENEFITS ELIGIBILITYRetail salaried and non-retail partners become eligible for benefits the first day of themonth following 90 days of employment.Retail hourly partners become eligible for benefits after being paid at least 160 hours overa two-consecutive-month period. Starbucks begins monitoring your paid hours the first dayof the month following your hire date (or the first of the month if you are hired on the firstday of the month) and will continue until you become eligible. Once you are paid 160 hoursover a two-consecutive-month period, you will be eligible the first day of the month followingthat calculation.ONGOING BENEFITS ELIGIBILITYBenefits eligibility audits are conducted four times per year in January, April, July, and Octoberto determine whether you have been paid the hours needed to maintain eligibility. Retailhourly partners must be paid a minimum of 240 hours (an average of 20 hours per week)during each calendar quarter.ENROLLMENTOnce you become eligible for benefits, a notice is emailed to you at the email addressyou provided when you were hired. Then you have 31 days to read through the benefitsinformation and enroll online at mysbuxben.ca. Partners may cover themselves and theireligible dependents including children and their spouse or common-law partner.EXTENDED HEALTH COVERAGEOur flexible extended health plan offers three levels of coverage and includes a host ofmedical services not included in your provincial medical plan, i.e. hospitalization, out-ofCanada emergency medical, prescription drugs, paramedical treatment, etc. Coverage foralternative care treatments such as naturopathic, acupuncture, massage therapy, osteopathicand chiropractic care are included.MENTAL HEALTHOur extended health plan includes industry leading coverage for mental health treatmentproviders including Registered Psychologists, Social Workers, Clinical Counsellors andRegistered Psychotherapists.Your Special Blend – Canada February 20195

Optional coverage, between 20,000 and 500,000, may be purchased forthe partner and/or their spouse or common-law partner in 10,000 increments.Retail hourly partners are provided automatic basic coverage in the amount of 10,000.Optional coverage, between 20,000 and 500,000, may be purchased for the partner and/ortheir spouse or common-law partner in 10,000 increments.ACCIDENTAL DEATH & DISMEMBERMENT (AD&D)Starbucks provides company paid accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) coverage equalto basic life insurance for all benefits-eligible partners. Optional coverage, between 20,000 and 500,000, may be purchased on its own or with optional life insurance for the partnerand/or their spouse or common-law partner in 10,000 increments.DISABILITYOur disability plan coverage provides partial replacement of lost wages when a partner isunable to work due to an illness or injury.Short-Term Disability (STD) provides retail hourly partners with continued partial income forup to 35 weeks if they are unable to work due to a non-occupational total medical disability.Benefits start after a 16-week waiting period. Retail salaried and non-retail partners are eligiblefor up to 26 weeks after a 7-day waiting period.Long-Term Disability (LTD) provides partial income replacement to retail salaried andnon-retail partners after Short-Term Disability ends. Full-time and non-retail hourly partnersreceive this coverage automatically, with Starbucks paying 100% of the premium.EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (EAP)This program provides short-term counseling for stress-related issues, emotional difficulties,critical incidents in the workplace and other personal concerns, including financial, legal anddaily living (a resource on child care, elder care, school information and more). EAP services areavailable to all Canadian partners and their family members or roommates residing in the samehousehold regardless of benefits eligibility.CUP (CARING UNITES PARTNERS) FUNDThe CUP Fund is a financial assistance program that helps Starbucks partners who experiencea financial crisis resulting from an illness, the death of a partner or family member, naturaldisaster or other extreme circumstances. ADOPTION EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENTStarbucks provides financial assistance to partners who have chosen to adopt. Partners eligiblefor Starbucks benefits may receive reimbursement of up to 10,000 to help pay for qualifiedexpenses related to the adoption of an eligible child.TUITION REIMBURSEMENTWe don’t just believe in our partners’ potential. We invest in it! Following six months of service,benefits-eligible partners can receive up to 1,000 annually in reimbursement for tuition, booksand fees at any accredited institution for a variety of degrees, diplomas and certificates.VACATIONStarbucks’ vacation benefit is based on the partner’s position, length of service and work location.Retail Salaried and Non-Retail Hourly Vacation ScheduleOn the first day of each fiscal year, partners receive their annual vacation grant with theunderstanding that this time will be earned over the course of the fiscal year. SavingsREGISTERED RETIREMENT SAVINGS PLAN (RRSP)The Starbucks Future Savings RRSP is an easy way to grow your savings through pre-taxdeductions. Partners, age 18 or older with 60 days (hourly) or 90 days (retail salaried andnon-retail) of service, are generally eligible to participate.Eligible partners may contribute from 1% to 18% of their pay each pay period.Starbucks Matching ContributionsWhen you save through the RRSP, Starbucks will match your contributions, dollar for dollar,into a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), up to 4% of eligible pay.VestingParticipant contributions are 100% vested (i.e. owned by the partner). Stock PlansSTOCK INVESTMENT PLAN (S.I.P.)Since 1995, S.I.P. has provided Starbucks partners opportunities to purchase company stockeach quarter at a discounted price through regular payroll deductions. Eligible partners maycontribute 1% to 10% of their base pay each pay period.EligibilityPartners become eligible after 90 days of employment. Partners may elect to contribute1% to 10% of their base pay each pay period. When a partner reaches initial eligibility,a postcard reminder is mailed to the partner’s home address.Discounted Stock PurchaseAfter the end of each calendar quarter, each participant’s contributions are used to buyStarbucks stock at a 5% discount. The 5% discount is applied to the fair market valueof Starbucks stock on the last business day of the quarterly offering.BEAN STOCKStarted in 1991, Bean Stock is a reward that is granted in the form of Restricted Stock Units(RSUs), which turn into shares of Starbucks stock over a specified period of time. With theopportunity to share in the financial success of the company, Starbucks employees becameknown as partners. Every year, Starbucks Board of Directors evaluates a number of factorsfrom the company’s performance to cost of the program and determines how many sharesare available to grant to eligible partners. Bean Stock is an example of how Starbucks rewardsyou for the many contributions you make every day to the overall success of Starbucks.EligibilityPartners must be employed by Starbucks by May 1 before the grant, and are a store partner,or non-retail partner in a position up to, but not including grade 25.
