A Message from the FounderEvery successful minister goes through school. It’s just a matter ofwhether it’s in a formal educational setting with experienced instructorsready to help, or an informal one through the “school of hard knocks”,alone. I took the latter route, and I must say, if you survive, it makes agreat testimony. However, I don’t recommend it!The Lord led me to start Charis Bible College for thepurpose of training people for the work of the ministry.He wanted me to take a unique approach; it had to bea combination of the rich teaching of God’s Word andpractical, hands-on ministry experience.This was modelled in the Old Testament by Elijah andElisha with the school of the prophets and in the NewTestament when Paul told Timothy to train faithfulmen to teach others. With this combination, I knewour graduates would be able to avoid many of theproblems and hardships I encountered; they would bewell prepared. I believe the Lord has supernaturallyopened doors for my ministry in Uganda. Fromthe Charis graduates who have been led there byGod, through our daily broad casts on LighthouseTelevision, Radio programs, Social Media platformsand websites, friends, relatives and our bookshop6in the heart of Kampala, the Lord is reaching out inlove to all of Uganda. And now Director Rich Kanyaliand his team are bringing our Charis Bible College toyou. This is the most in-depth way of getting peopleestablished in God’s Word that we have. In two years ofBible college, you get the equivalent of nearly twentyyears of church attendance. Plus, you are hearing acombination of grace and faith that is not taught inmany churches.I know the Lord has opened these doors because Heloves Uganda and has great plans for your country.What He needs are leaders and that’s what CharisUganda is all about. Letter from DirectorRich KanyaliAWM/Charis DirectorIf you are called to full-time ministry or if you are just wanting to grow deeperin the Word and your relationship with God, Charis Bible College is the placefor you. One of the greatest mistakes many young, and even older, ministershave made before launching out into ministry is not pursuing enough training.People train for almost every profession they go into, but few have the sameperspective when it comes to matters concerning the Kingdom of God.I believe we must prepare for the kingdom of God morefaithfully than we prepare for any secular profession.Even more, we must prepare ourselves for the call ofGod on our lives.At Charis, we not only prepare you for your call, but wealso train you as a messenger and a minister. I believethe more prepared you are, the greater chance youhave of succeeding at whatever God has called youto do. Success does not come without diligence andcommitment, and sad to say, not just by prayer. Youneed the help of those that have gone before you soyou can avoid the pitfalls they have fallen into, learn attheir expense (1 Corinthians 10:11 and Romans 15:4)—from their mistakes as well as victories.You can choose how you want to learn, or you can allowlife’s troubles to be your principal teacher. It will beeither the easier way—through the Word—or the harderway, through hardships. I like saying it this way, “you willlearn either by light or heat.” The choice is yours.Our vision as Charis Bible College is “Transforminglives, Training leaders, Changing the world.” Before youcan become a leader, you need your life transformedby the Lord Jesus Christ, and we are equipped to helpyou in this area through the Word of God. Next, we willtrain you to become a leader. Leadership is influence.Although everyone has a degree of influence, I believesome shouldn’t because it is not positive, but negative.After your life is transformed and developed a strongrelationship with the Lord, and you have receivedleadership training, only then can you change the world.At Charis Bible College, we are delighted to raise andequip faithful men and women for the work of theministry (Ephesians 4:11-12).How? Walking in the supernaturalI am a mechanical engineer by profession working withthe Uganda Railways Corporation. We lived powerlesslives, struggling and constantly under the torment ofthe devil. Our lives were so uninspiring which led us tohave many questions but no answers.However all this turned around when I joined mycurrent church, Send His Word Ministries where ourPastor, Godwin Tumusiime, a Charis alumn taughtus about the “Believer’s Authority”. This teachingtransformed my life both personally and spiritually asa minister. It opened my eyes to the supernatural life inGod and also birthed in me and my wife a new hungerfor the word of God. With this hunger and the goodcounsel of our pastor, we both joined Charis.Charis Alumni - Willy SemboozeMy three year Charis experience was marked by manyprofound experiences but what stood out most wasthat every teaching pointed to the unconditional loveand grace of God. God’s true nature was revealed. Ilearned how to interpret the Bible through the mindof God. Through Charis, I learnt how to operate inthe faith which works by love (Gal. 5:6), resulting intremendous victories!19
Over the course of my stay at Charis, I was transformedin many aspects of my life, starting with our marriage,our ministry vision became clearer where thesupernatural was demystified. My entire family nowlives in divine health and the demonstration of thespirit comes naturally. My professional performancehas also greatly improved as well as my leadershipskills at work and in ministry.Charis gave an opportunity through missions to puttest what we had been learning. I saw the power of Godin action when I participated in two Charis missions toTanzania and Zimbabwe.Due to the hunger and passion that results fromsitting under the word for three years at Charis,demonstrating the spirit and power of God flowed andstill flows effortlesly. I literally saw instant healings,miracles and impartations of the anointing move likewaves. My shadow healed the sick instantly. I releasedpower on microphones, surfaces, chairs, tables andpeople would touch them and receive instant healingand deliverance, to the glory of God.Some of the most outstanding of all these miracleswas a lady with feeble knees who received strengthinstantly. Another such healing happened during20school’s ministry. A boy was left in the dormitory aswe ministered to the rest in the hall. By a word ofknowledge, he was instantly healed on his bed!During Charis missions’ hospital ministry in Zimbabwe,we literally discharged all admitted patients andescorted some back to their homes. I released healinganointing on a young man who was then slain underthe power of the Holy Spirit. When he got up, he toolaid his hands on the sick and healed them. Severalblind eyes opened and the prophetic grace was heavilymanifest.As the supernatural living in Christ was demystified,we stepped out in power and authority to do what Godcalled us to do as ministers. Our passion for ministryis to build a healing school that will disciple healingministers.Together with my wife, we currently impact ourworld through various avenues of ministry including:fellowship at our home which has over 25 memebers,and Radio Ministry with Andrew Wommack GospelTruth Programme on 96.6 Spirit FM. We are part ofthe teachers at Send His Work Discipleship school, andheading a number of departments at Church. I also leadour workplace fellowship among other responsibilities.

Thisinteraction will help you put into practice what you’ve studied on your own as well as gain understanding.Charis Hybrid is for the person whose career or family obligations need to be fulfilled yet has a deep desireto gain an understanding of the Word and wants to grow in relationship with the Lord.
