Submittalsis reached, the tension on the actuator paddlereleases pushing down on the actuator of thesuppression tank; expelling the wet chemicalagent from the pre-charged tank, a signal is sentto shut OFF power to the range and a local and(when connected) building fire alarm will beactivated.Submit product data and shop drawings on packagedexhaust hood.General Hood system shall be installed as 300A compliant NFPA 101 compliance is an available option on theHalton HHR1000. The hood shall be operating at a minimum of 500CFM when NFPA101 compliant.Tank pressure shall be monitored using tankpressure switch and a fault will cause the systemalarm to beep and the LED status light willsimultaneously flash 4 times. All fire suppression and control components mustbe easily accessible by dropping the hood intoa service position to allow for service withoutremoving the hood from the wall. Thumb screwsshall be utilized to hold the hood into place fornormal operation. No latches are acceptable.Standards of ConstructionA. Hood shall be constructed of 18 gauge minimum,300 Series stainless steel outer shell. Hoodshall be either 30 in. long (to cover 30 in. range)or 36 in. long (to cover 36 in.range). Hood shellshall be manufactured and assembled with novisible outer welds or weld marks. All internalseams shall be sealed with NSF-approved caulk, standard. A metal baffle filter shall be provided. One (1) 60W Incandescent Shatterproof orequivalent LED hood light shall provide lighting onthe range below.D. Hood system shall include either an electric orgas shut off device that shall be field connecteddirectly to the hood via factory-provided plug andplay cables. Prior to fire suppression release, theshut off device shall be responsible for disablingthe range upon detecting a high temperature.Gas disconnect (if provided) shall include a 3/4in. gas valve supplied with plug and play cable, and a 120VAC control receptacle is available uponrequest. Other electric disconnect receptacletypes are also available upon request.B. Kitchen ventilation hood shall be recirculatingor exhaust only, and cover a domestic rangein commercial environments used for lightduty cooking purposes only. The hood shall beICC evaluated and certified as compliant withInternational Mechanical Code (IMC), InternationalFire Code (IFC), and Uniform Mechanical Code(UMC). If provided with a fan, the fan shall be UL507 listed or equivalent. Hood fire suppressionshall be listed by ETL to the standards of the ULSubject 300A. Hood shall be configured as wallstyle (supplied with wall mounting bracket).E. Hood system with NFPA 101 compliance, mustinclude: a minimum of 500 CFM fan, locked(password protected) appliance disconnect withtimed-automatic range deactivation, and manualpull station.1.C. Hood shall include factory-installed UL Subject300A fire suppression system, includingenvironmental monitoring, wire rope, failsafe fusible links, and mechanical actuation. No electronic detection or actuation shall beaccepted. Fire suppression shall be a fail-safemethod and consist of three fusible links (212 for 30”, 280 for 36”), temperature switches thatmonitor the cooking surface and upon reachingthe first set-point, send a signal to turn the fanON, at the second set point sends a signal tomaintain the fan ON, while also sending a signalto shut OFF power to the range and sounding alocal alarm. When the set point of the fusible linksHHR1000UL300A Exhaust HoodsPull station shall be a mechanical pullstation. Electronic pull station is notacceptable.2. Password protected access will be mountedremotely. Hood mounted password accessis not acceptable.F.5User controls shall be provided to control fan,and lights. A hood mounted touchscreen is notacceptable. The status LED and audible alarmmay be used to determine any faults within thesystem. All hood controls must be accessed byswitches and potentiometers on the hood itselfunless supplied with an ADA Switch with factoryprovided plug and play cable or controlled inconjunction with a touchscreen that is mountedremotely.Form#: SS205 HHR1000-UL300A Exhaust HoodDate: 03-2021 - Rev1Specification
