WHAT IS THE UNIT ABOUT?Unit descriptionThis unit explores the evolution of the electronic health record (EHR). It examinesthe definition and context of the EHR, records management, the benefits andbarriers of EHRs, the national health information agenda, the EHR as a sociotechnical tool, ethical considerations, and the future of EHRs.Intended Learning OutcomesAs per the Assessment and Results Procedure, your results will reflect yourachievement against specified learning outcomes.On completion of this unit, you will be able to:1. Critically evaluate the theory and practical application of electronic healthrecords locally and internationally.2. Analyse drivers and trends influencing the development of EHRs3. Critique possible points of tension in the socio-technical system4. How your final result is determinedTo pass this unit, you need to achieve a final unit result of 50% or greater.Submission of assignmentsThe act of submitting your assignment will be taken as certification that it is your ownwork.Assignments must be submitted electronically through the relevant assignment tab inMyLO.Please remember that you are responsible for lodging your assessment items on orbefore the due date and time. We suggest you keep a copy.
