Section I – IntroductionThis directory provides a list of HealthPartnersJourney’s network providers. To get detailedinformation about your health care coverage, pleasesee your Evidence of Coverage (EOC).The network providers listed in this directory haveagreed to provide you with your health care and dentalservices. You may go to any of our network providerslisted in this directory. If you have been going to onenetwork provider, you are not required to continue togo to that same provider.Out-of-network providers are under no obligationto treat HealthPartners Journey enrollees, except inemergencies. For a decision about whether we willcover an out-of-network service, we encourage you oryour provider to ask us for a pre-service organizationdetermination before you receive the service.Please call our Member Services Department at952-883-6655 or 866-233-8734, TTY: 711. Our plan will cover services from eitherin-network or out-of-network providers, as long asthe services are covered benefits and are medicallynecessary. However, if you use out-of-networkproviders, your share of the costs for your coveredservices may be higher.In most cases, if you get care from an out-of-networkprovider, that provider must be eligible to participatein Medicare. Except for emergency care, we cannotpay a provider who is not eligible to participate inMedicare. If you receive care from a provider whois not eligible to participate in Medicare, you willbe responsible for the full cost of the services youreceive. Check with your provider before receivingservices to confirm that they are eligible to participatein Medicare.You don’t need to get a referral or prior authorizationwhen you get care from out-of-network providers.However, before getting services from out-of-networkproviders you may want to ask for a pre-serviceorganization determination to confirm that theservices you are getting are covered and are medicallynecessary.If an out-of-network provider asks you to pay forcovered services, please contact Member Servicesprior to paying your bill. When you are outside the service area and cannotget care from a network provider, you may receiveemergency and urgently needed care from the closestavailable provider. In addition, when out of theservice area you can obtain dialysis treatment fromany qualified dialysis provider.
