Jason Gokey was hired in anewly added position of Website and SocialMedia Content Manager for the Department ofCorrections.SOCIAL MEDIA – At the end of December, a reviewof DOC social media account engagement indicatedthe following:Facebook – 25,027 “likes” and25,874 followersTwitter – 868 followersInstagram – 173 followersLinkedIn – 514 followersDIVISION OF CORRECTIONPROCUREMENT:For December 2020, PurchaseOrders and Contracts in excess of 10,000 amounted to 3,317,363.73(see chart on Page 7 for details). Ofthis amount, 1,524,699.53 was forInmate Care and Custody-related items(food, shoes, clothing, etc.).All accounts include posts highlighting the entiredepartment, as well as hiring opportunities.CURRENT BIDS – Digital Camera System/ConstructionPRISON RAPE ELIMINATION ACT (PREA):The PREA Coordinator provided Sexual AssaultInvestigation Training on December 3 and 4. Of those,51 were approved, seven were denied, and 20 arepending. A total of 18 catastrophic leave requestswere received. Of those, ten were approved, threedenied, and five are pending.A total of 15 FMLA requests were processed for theDivision of Community Correction in December. Ofthose, 13 were approved, one was denied, and one ispending. Six catastrophic leave requests were receivedwith two approved, two denied, and two pending.PHYSICAL ASSESSMENTS –A total of 172 Division of Correction incumbentpersonnel and applicants were assessed in themonth of December. Of those, 68 incumbentpersonnel passed their physical assessments, andone did not. That applicant rescheduled and passedafter receiving a physician’s release. DOC SECRETARY’S BOARD REPORT, January 2021Division of Correction Correctional Officerinterviews were conducted in December at MISCELLANEOUS FUND REPORTSDIVISION OF CORRECTION– THe INMATE WELFARE FUND balance onDecember 31, 2020, was 10,219,395.64. THe PAWS IN PRISON FUND balance onDecember 31, 2020, was 359,696.10: ADCaccount (NDC0500/Recycling) 109,571.96, andADC account (QUICKBOOKS) 250,124.14.DIVISION OF COMMUNITY CORRECTION– The SPECIAL REVENUE FUND appropriationbalance was 1,315,591.43 and Cash Balance: 12,681,051.69 on December 31, 2020. The RESIDENTIAL CASH FUNDappropriation balance was 547,348.57 and CashBalance: 2,465,847.80 on December 31, 2020. The DRUG COURT ACCOUNTABILITYGRANT FUND appropriation balance was 495,549.41 and Cash Balance: 494,535.00 onDecember 31, 2020. The FEDERAL ASSET FORFEITURE FUNDappropriation balance was 98,307.74 and CashBalance: 67,014.97 on December 31, 2020.INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY:EMPLOYEE BADGE DATABASE –Printer and software installation is scheduled forJanuary 7. When completed, employee badges willbe available for distribution at AdministrationAnnex East in Pine Bluff, the Training Academyin England, and the DOC Headquarters in NorthLittle Rock. The centralized single database systemwill be hosted at Admin East.3MERAKI –The iOS 14.3 update was pushed out to the stateiPhones within the DOC. Users must connectto Wi-Fi to install the update. A total of 137 outof 902 devices have not been updated to version13.6 or better. Version 13.6 includes a patch forthe remote code execution bug. Notification isbeing sent to request that devices be updated in atimely manner.VIDEO COURT HEARINGS –A total of 104 court hearings and attorney visitswere facilitated during the month. The lightervolume was due to the Christmas holiday.COAP TABLETS –The remaining tablets were configured anddelivered to DOC Headquarters for distributionto the COAP sites. The eOMIS team will assumethe deployment of the tablets and providetraining for their use. The IT Department willprovide remote support for any tablet issues withTeamViewer.SOLARWINDS SERVICE DESK TICKETINGAND ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM –The SolarWinds service desk has been configuredand implemented as the primary ticketing system.New links have been pushed out to users, andthe current system is being phased out. Changescontinue to be made for quality of life.PINE BLUFF FREELINE FIBER –Lines have been run, and the network team iscoordinating with the freeline residents to performthe necessary splices in their homes. VOIP phoneservice is being provided via the fiber. The projecthas been delayed due to equipment failure issues.New parts had to be ordered, and progress willcontinue after they are received.DOC CYLANCE TENANT, ADDING WELLPATH COMPUTERS –Wellpath PCs have had Cylance installed on theDOC Tenant. The USB ports on Wellpath PCs havebeen disabled with a few exceptions.

4DOC SECRETARY’S BOARD REPORT, January 2021ACCESS POINT DEPLOYMENT –Wireless access points for East Arkansas RegionalUnit were configured and are being installed. Thiswill provide wireless internet access to designatedlocations in the facility for deployment of theSecurity and Mental Health tablets. Access points willbe installed in Varner Unit next.SOLARWINDS BREACH –SolarWinds announced a security breach identifyingsome SolarWinds products earlier in the month. Inresponse, DOC IT shut down our SolarWinds programsas a precaution. With investigation, we learned that wewere not using the version of the product affected, and ourSolarWinds program was restarted and usage resumed.REMAINING SITES FOR MIGRATION TOTHE ADC DOMAIN –Migration has been essentially completed. AnyPCs that were missed due to employee absence orleave are being addressed.RESEARCH AND PLANNINGTRAINING:In December, DOC staff conducted ten eOMISuser tests for new agency staff. Staff attendedvarious mandatory annual training coursesthroughout the month.DATA GATHERING AND DISTRIBUTION:During the month of December, the Research andPlanning Team completed and submitted its workon 19 survey and ad-hoc data requests.eOMIS DEVELOPMENT:DOC Research and Planning Staff worked withMarquis to complete 32 eOMIS updates duringthe month of December. Two new tickets weresubmitted, addressing both enhancements anduser issues. The largest effort of the month focusedon the InTouch Client Portal mobile app.
