BRINGING BACKTHE CUJOHOKA HEYCOUGAR FOOTBALL NEWSWESTERN HILLS HIGH SCHOOLWESTERN HILLS 35VOLUME 3OCTOBER 1 . 2020BENBROOK, TXCASTLEBERRY 34Man, what a great game last Friday night! We jumped out to an early 22‐6 lead, but Castleberry eventually tied it up and took thelead. With 1:39 left in the fourth, we turned the ball over on downs and things did not look good. On the castleberry first down play, senior LBDeion Williams stripped the ball away from the castleberry running back and gave us new life. Two great runs by sophomore QB Keyon Butler, ahuge catch and run on a quick hitch to Senior WR Trey Brewster set us up at the about the 20 yard line. Senior WR Ashon Cooper then caught aquick out, split two defenders and weaved his way into the endzone with 17 seconds left in the game and a one‐point lead. The Castleberry kickoffreturner had a nice return and was tackled by Senior Jude Collins. The defensive line got a huge rush on the last play of the game and the gameended with a sack of the QB. Final score WHHS ‐ 35 CHS ‐ 34.I could not be more proud of the kids and coaches. They fought through some adversity and won a tough district game to go 2‐0 in districts.Junior LB Caleb Clark had a huge game on defense finishing with 17 tackles. The defense stepped up when they needed to and got some keystops. Our offensive line continues to get better each week. Center RJ Moilan, Guards Jacorie Williams and Angel Ortiz, tackles Kishaun Brookins andNoah Sanchez, and TE Michael Young did a great job of leading us to over 250 yards rushing. Nick Johnson and Janaii Thompson came into thegame in our "jumbo" set and gave us a big group of guys to run behind.Junior running back Jason Green was a workhorse! He had 30 carries for 152 yards and 4 TD'sThis Friday night is Benbrook! We would love to have you all come out to the game.Picture Credit – Cindy Quillen2
