Jesus’ Little LambsBased on John 10:1–16 and Luke 15:4–7Jesus is a good shepherd. Heknows each of His little sheep byname. And His sheep know Himtoo.Jesus stands at the gate of thesheep pen. Jesus will take care ofany little sheep that asks to comeinto the gate of the sheep pen. Those sheep will be saved. Theshepherd will make sure that Hissheep have everything they need.Jesus once told a story abouta man who owned one hundredsheep. Every evening he wouldcount to make sure that all thesheep had come back from thepasture. One evening he was countinghis sheep. “Oh no, one sheep ismissing!” the shepherd cried. The shepherd quickly closedthe gate of the sheep pen andhurried to find his lost sheep. Hewent out in the dark to searchfor his lost sheep. He lookedeverywhere—in the forest on top of the hills . and evenbetween the rocks. Until at last,he found his little lost sheep! The shepherd was overjoyed. He put the sheep on his shoulderand carried it all the way to thesheep pen. At last the little sheepwas safe in the pen again, homewith its other sheep friends!Jesus told His disciples, “I tellyou this story, so that you willknow that I care for you.”Jesus is like the shepherd. Hedoesn’t want one little sheep tobe lost. He will always take careof you, because He loves you verymuch. The endWritten and illustrated by Didier Martin.
