I always look forward to the March meetingbecause it uplifts me and renews my belief in the power of women toaccomplish great things. Now is a great and important time in history to do everything possible to helpforge a more gender-balanced world. Women have come a long way, yetthere's still more to be achieved. March 8, 2019 is International Women’sDay. There is a new push to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment by extendingthe deadline. I didn’t find an official march or rally in San Antonio for thisevent, though there are events worldwide. Maybe you can take time on March8 to write or call your state representatives and urge them to get on the list ofthose who are in favor of ratifying the ERA.What else can you do to make your voice heard on other issues? I am gratefulto AAUW for creating the Two Minute Activist which gives us easy access toour representatives. If you haven’t signed up for the Two Minute Activist, goto www.aauw.org. It is easy!March is a reminder of the work yet to do as well as the strides that have beenmade. As always, I am grateful for all of you for being members of AAUW andpromoting equity at all levels with your dollars and your presence. Togetherwe can make a difference.Suzanne comP1
