U.S. HUD Subsidized Senior Housing ListGeneral GuidelinesSubsidized housing for seniors and disabled persons is located throughout the greater Phoenix area in the form ofindependent apartment complexes. Rent (which includes utilities) is approximately 30% of a person’s adjusted gross income(medical expenses are deducted). To qualify for housing, your income must meet the guidelines at each particular complexto which you are applying. You must also meet the age requirement of 62 years, or (if you are younger) have a disability(usually a physical disability that impairs mobility). To apply, you need to contact the individual apartment complex and askto fill out an application. This will place you on their waiting list for an available apartment. The lengths of the waiting listswill vary according to each apartment complex. The “estimated wait” provides only an approximation. Clients should callthe HUD complex to determine the wait at the time of their application.Updated 4/2017
