Before You Start Your TripIt is VITAL that the WEX card matches the vehicle you are driving. Step 1:When you stop the statevehicle at the fueling station,make note of the currentodometer reading (vehiclemileage) before exiting thevehicle.If you are driving a newer modelvehicle it may have a digitalodometer, so it is VITAL that youobtain the odometer readingbefore exiting the driver seat oryou will have to initiate the startup sequence to see the mileagereading.Odometer Reading3
Step 2: At a WEX accepting location,Insert the WEX Card into pay-atthe-pump terminal device, or theappropriate slot, or have theattendant swipe the card insidethe fuel station. It is VITAL that you follow theindividual pump instructions, asthey may vary from station tostation. If the pay-at-pumptransaction is possible, continuewith Step 3.4
Step 3:The display at the pump will ask you to input both the PIN # of the driverand the odometer reading of the vehicle.(Please note that it is VITAL that the PIN number be kept privateand must not be shared with anyone else.) Be careful that you enterthem in the correct order. Some pumps require the PIN # first and othersthe odometer reading first. Enter the mileage and PIN # as prompted bythe screen by pressing the appropriate numberkeys on the pump keypad, then press“ENTER”.NOTE: (WHEN YOU ENTERTHE ODOMETER READING,PLEASE “DO NOT” ENTER“TENTHS”).X5
Step 4:Remember - always do the following: It is VITAL that you follow the pump instructions onselecting the fuel type, and pump the gasoline. When selecting a fuel site to purchase fuel, take aclose look at the fueling stations in your deliveryarea. Select one that offers the best price pergallon for the fuel type. You may go online atwww.gaspricewatch.com to compare prices. Obtain the current odometer in the vehicle beforeattempting to swipe the WEX fuel card. It is VITAL that you use ONLY REGULAR GRADEFUELS – do not fuel higher-grade fuels unlessauthorized to do so. NEVER SHARE YOUR PIN WITH ANYONE ANDDO NOT LEAVE IT WITH THE CARD! Treat thisnumber like your ATM PIN or Social SecurityNumber.6
Step 5: When finished, it is VITAL to secure thepump nozzle, and follow the pumpinstructions for printing a receipt. Most pumps will provide a printed receiptfor the transaction. Remove the receipt from the pump printerwhen finished.7
Step 6:It is VITAL to verify that the correct odometerreading is printed on the receipt; if it is not, writethe correct odometerreading on the receipt!8
Step 7:If required by your agency,submit receipts to yourVehicle/Fleet Coordinator andmake sure the vehicle number isprinted or written on yourreceipt.9
