WHAT IS MEANINGFULUSE?Meaningful use sets specific objectives thateligible professionals (EPs) and hospitals mustachieve to qualify for Centers for Medicare &Medicaid Services (CMS) Incentive Programs.There are two EHR Incentive Programs. CMSoversees the Medicare EHR Incentive Program,and the state Medicaid agencies manage theMedicaid EHR Incentive Program.In order to achieve meaningful use, CMS requiresthat all the products being used for attestationmeet 100% of the CMS required criteria.
