F115 Ceiling SurfaceMounted Media Air CleanersPRODUCT DATA Two levels of filtration:— 99.97% High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA)— Hospital grade filter 95% efficient at 0.3 micron(MERV 16) F115 single speed models deliver up to 600 cfm (1020m3/hr). Select models include CPZ disposable canisters forodor control. Light colored covers complement the ceiling finish. Available in 120 Vac, 60 HzSPECIFICATIONSGENERALThe F115 Ceiling Surface Mounted Media Air Cleaners usedirect-drive, forward curve, blower/motors with 95% D.O.P.(MERV 16) particle or HEPA filters to remove airbornecontaminants. The air cleaners are designed for use inrestaurants, conference rooms, lounges and offices whereoverhead air cleaning is required. They provide their ownair circulation, so the air cleaners can be used in anysituation that requires the reduction of contaminationfrom an enclosed area.IMPORTANTThe specifications given in this publication do notinclude normal manufacturing tolerances. Therefore, this unit may not exactly match the listedspecifications. This product is tested and calibrated under closely controlled conditions, andsome minor differences in performance can beexpected if those conditions are changed.Models: Refer to Table 1 for model descriptions.Color: White cabinet and coverBlower/Motor: Single-speed, direct-drive, forward curve.FEATURESDimensions: See Fig. 1 for dimensions. High Efficiency Particulate AIR (HEPA) filter models are99.97% efficient and the D.O.P. particle filter modelsare 95% efficient at 0.3 micron particles. Both modelsare more efficient on particles smaller and larger.Table 1. Do not connect the power source until after theair cleaner is mounted. This will preventelectrical shock or equipment damage.INSTALLATION Be sure to turn off the air cleaner beforeservicing it.When Installing this Product 1.2.3.4. If the air cleaner must be turned on for anelectrical check, be extremely cautious.Read these instructions carefully. Failure to followthem could damage the product or cause a hazardous condition.Check the ratings given in the instructions and onthe product to make sure the product is suitable foryour application.Installer must be a trained, experienced servicetechnician. After installation is complete, check out productoperation as provided in these instructions. When the air cleaner ispowered, the blower/motor draws the contaminated airinto the air cleaner. Particles that are too small to becaught in the prefilter are removed by the particle or HEPAfilter. The cleaned air is then returned to the buildingspace.Decide if the air cleaner wire connections will befrom the top or the side. Make the necessary wiringprovisions at the ceiling.Grasp the air cleaner cover edge near the plenumand remove the cover from the support brackets. Setit aside.Loosen and remove the filter securing nuts, holdingplates and filters. Set them aside.Insert fastening hardware (lag bolts, eye bolts orthreaded rod) through the 3/8 in. (10 mm) mountingholes in the filter/motor bases. See Fig. 1.Secure the air cleaner to the ceiling load bearingsupports or joists. If installing on a T-grid drop ceiling, secure the air cleaner to the true ceiling.Fasten the plenum assembly snugly against the ceiling. In areas with ceilings up to 10 feet high, the F115 modelscan clean a 600 to 1200 sq ft (54 to 108 sq m) area.SERVICEThe air cleaner removes a variety of particulatecontaminants from the air. In the process of cleaning theair, the air cleaner filters become dirty. To maintain a high standard of reliability and efficiency, itis necessary to periodically service the air cleaner. Thefilter life is determined by the quantity and type ofcontaminants present and the frequency of air cleaneruse. In relatively clean spaces, the filter life can extend aslong as 30 months. In areas that are very smoky and dusty, filters need to be replaced sooner. The frequency ofservicing can only be established after a period of use.IMPORTANTDo not over-tighten the plenum fasteners whichcan collapse or break the plastic base/plenum.7.Connect the power.
